Damn, was wondering why my store was suddenly in Spanish I even went into the settings trying to set it back, since I assumed it was the steam localization being screwy again. Guess I missed the part where it was a completely different account. Hell, we might even get a Sorry at this rate
Over half the market, zero competition, all major and even most small games exclusive to the platform, no to play most of them without being logged in clearly there's a wealth of alternative choices here also, amazon, gamestop, and gamersgate all sell games that activate on steam so they don't even really count
Over half the market is not all the market
the thing about this whole thing is spammers have your actual personal info to use for scams now
GOG literally stands for Good Old Games. What's the argument about? It's like comparing Walmart to a hobby modelling store. Oranges and Lemons.
"Walmart holds a monopoly in most small towns" I can say this without citing a damn thing, but when I refer to Steam, the largest digital distributor ever, I have to back it up in MLA format with 10 sources.
A monopoly is when a single company holds an entire determined market, with no competitors. Steam is not a monopoly. It's a quasi-monopoly, and even that's pushing it. Valve has a lot of competitors.
I can log in again.
silly me, 7 games obviously compete with over 10k
7 AAA games. Steam does NOT have 10k AAA games. Do you read what you post?
7 AAA games. Steam does NOT have 10k AAA games. Do you read what you post?
and 85% of steam games are independently published.
Can you guys stop arguing about irrelevant shit?
Do I have to change my email? Also I tried to remove emails, credit cards and phone numbers from other peoples accounts since I assumed they were hackers. Am I safe? I heard that doing something involving removing information is risky.
Please google competition. They do not control the entire market.
they effectively do. it doesn't matter if they actualy do, because the big point i'm making that you refuse to accept is that they have no real competition. GoG is niche. Origin and Uplay sell EA and Ubisoft games. Amazon, Gamersgate, Greenman Gaming, Gamestop, they all sell steam keys. There is no major competitor for steam that makes you think, "Which platform should I buy Fallout 4 on?", insert whatever major title you wish into that, it doesn't matter, it is exclusively on steam.
steamgames is real for fucks sake lmao
Great job in reading my post. Want to try again maybe? I am saying that the transactions are incorrect. That is not how refunds are displayed on pending transactions. Please reread my post.
Is it safe to open the store or not now? This isn't the thread for other companies
steamgames is real for fucks sake lmao
He wasn't saying it isn't. He was saying the image was faked because it wasn't following the rules of bank statements. If you were charged, then a refund issued, it wouldn't wipe the record of the charge. It would look similar to this.
Can you guys stop arguing about irrelevant shit?
Its not all that irrelevant.
so in other words its safe to buy stuff with credit/cards now?
they effectively do. it doesn't matter if they actualy do, because the big point i'm making that you refuse to accept is that they have no real competition.
so in other words its safe to buy stuff with credit/cards now?
It always has been, card info wasn't leaked.
so in other words its safe to buy stuff with credit/cards now?
yes.
so in other words its safe to buy stuff with credit/cards now?
Probably, but personally I'm gonna wait to hear the official statement/report on this before I start buying
Do I have to change my email? Also I tried to remove emails, credit cards and phone numbers from other peoples accounts since I assumed they were hackers. Am I safe? I heard that doing something involving removing information is risky.
Nothing you did would have had any effect because you didn't have the correct token - you were just seeing their details. You're no more (or less) screwed than anyone else, I wouldn't worry too much.
steamgames is real for fucks sake lmao
(Psst, he didn't say Steamgames.com is fake. He just pointed out that the rest of the screenshot is clearly fake. Learn to read.)
Probably, but personally I'm gonna wait to hear the official statement/report on this before I start buying
Probably the safest route IMO.
"It doesn't matter that they don't they pretend do."
Name me one major service that doesn't cover a seperate market (GoG), sell exclusively one company's games (Origin, Uplay), or resell steam keys (too many to name succinctly).
Its not all that irrelevant.
This thread is about people's Steam info getting shown to others, not a debate on whether Steam is a monopoly or not.
Name me one major service that doesn't cover a seperate market, sell exclusively one company's games, or resell steam keys.
How about you name me one.
Name me one major service that doesn't cover a seperate market, sell exclusively one company's games, or resell steam keys.
I don't understand what point you are getting at here. You misunderstand what market domination means, with your theory, facebook has a market domination on the entire social media platform.
they effectively do. it doesn't matter if they actualy do, because the big point i'm making that you refuse to accept is that they have no real competition. A competitor is not the same as a serious competitor. In a monopoly, the company has everything, and there's no one else. Steam has a lot of competitors, whether you think they're serious or not is irrelevant and not factual.
IT LIVES [t]http://puu.sh/m8AzP/8bd34e246f.jpg[/t]
is it totally fixed now or???? also, should totally link me that HOT SKIN on my comments
