How is having access to e-mails/credit card info from strangers not a security breach?
a security breach would be if someone deliberately got access to it
Fuck, I'm on mobile and at my grandma's place. I can't do shit
It's best that you don't do shit anyway, so
Looks like one of the guys I've been mistaken for just had his steam wallet cleaned out by someone else [editline]25th December 2015[/editline] NVM they suspended all functions it looks like
p.sure this IS a security breach. you may not be able to steal account details but at the very least you can see their actual usernames, and private email addresses, that imo is a security breach.
Security breach = intentional attack (IMO). This is an exposure of information but not a breach of the security.
guess i am going to have to wait to spend that christmas cash
Oh shit how do you remove your credit card from being connected to your steam account?
waw merry christmas ._.
Using the chat client to talk with people is still fine right?
my account details are the details of someone ELSES account
This is fucked. People's email adresses are visible if you go to the accounts page. I've already seen five people's payment details.

All I'm seeing is "loading tweet"
Not trying to escalate this situation but PANIC
nice one valve
Ah, good. Now I especially don't feel in danger, bank is usually pretty cooperative with these types of things afaik. And I've got two factor so its not like anyone will login with my password, since steam is one of the few things I always make sure to use a unique password for. Though just to be on the safe side, I think I'm going to remove my credit card and use exclusively paypal..
What do you think well get for this fuck up? They kinda owe us for such a fuck up.
Oh Fuck!
This is bad.
Yeah do NOT use store right now.
What do you think well get for this fuck up? They kinda owe us for such a fuck up.
Valve complete pack and an apology. In 6 months.
p.sure this IS a security breach. you may not be able to steal account details but at the very least you can see their actual usernames, and private email addresses, that imo is a security breach.
I think they mean that no one intentionally did this in this context.
i went to accoutn details, thought it was mine and deleted the cc info, turns out it was another persons anyway

Or move to a country with actual safe guards in place.
If they just had released HL3 none of this would have happend.
?????????
Fuck. At least I just spent all my money yesterday :v:
Now comes the fun part where steam support really gets to shine. i wonder how many hours of chaos its gonna be before they start sorting this shit.
Well that's seriously fucking concerning.
All I'm seeing is "loading tweet"
Disable Ghostery for tweets if you have it
Valve is gonna be getting so much shit for this, oh boy.
lawsuits maybe.
I wonder if valve is gonna give out free shit for this.
Could a moderator please change the title of this thread to something more fitting? perhaps something like "Major Steam glitch - Do not use Steam servies until further notice"
Changed it.
