There is no peaceful resolution to this, each party wants what the other party occupies, thus the only way this can be solved is for one or both of the parties to be wiped out.

Which rightfully should be the invading party no?
Yeah I guess the thousands of rockets hamas has fired at isreili civilians from gaza civilian positions (as in using them as shields) is fine.
Oh by the way

That is taken way out of context, man. Read the line at the very top: It sounds like he and his friends were being little bastards and were throwing rocks at a police vehicle, so they said "well throw them at your friend, lol".

Sorry, Are you insane? That's still a human rights violation, especially since they weren't even citizens of Israel, and I'd throw rocks at them too if I had the chance.

Totally. Not saying it was right or good or anything. It's still a dick move by any means.
But is it "using a child as a human shield," like the alarmist headline seems to say?
The Israelis and the Palestinians need to goverit and just share their land with each other.
That's the main thing they're fighting over isn't it? Land?
If it isn't fill me in.

Yes, it is. If you read further, you'd understand that the area they were in had become a hotspot for Israeli and Palistinian violence, so not only was it a human rights violation, it was also extremely dangerous for the kid.

Your logic is very flawed, the jews pushed and displaced thousands of people because they felt religious need to be in the "holy land"

Israel: SHARE? WITH THOSE ASSHOLES?
Palestine: SHARE? WITH THOSE JEWS?
Good job, your suggestion just went nowhere, really really fast.
K nevermind then.
I wonder if they need medics.
I've given up caring. Looking at statistics, any country would have already been pounded into submission, but no, this shitty little landmass in the left side of Israel, will fight until the last guy is standing. Sounds smart, hey?
Like it or not there is a time when you have to fight.

If it was either give up and die, or fight and die, I'd probably fight, too

Giving up means returning to partial normal life, and eventually resulting in a stable economy for the area.

Normal for who?

The Palestinians. As in, get a job, work for your money, and buy goods and services. Rather than the perpetual need for aid.

Great idea. Let's take over a country then once we annex them we can tell them to get used to it :v:
I love how everyone is jumping on the 'I HATE JEWS' bandwagon in every thread with this subject

First of all, no one has said that at all.
Second, are you saying we have no reason to be angry at Israel or Palestine?

First of all, this is not a fucking debate. I am stating the obvious.
No. You don't. Not unless you have family in either places that are being directly affected by these conflicts. The umpteen number of people from other places in the world need to sit down and shut the fuck up over a conflict they have no idea about. People outside of the conflict have no reason other than to show 'moral superiority' to others to care even remotely what goes on over there. It's a gigantic clusterfuck of 'hurr i haet israel hurr hurr occupation hurr hurr hurr'
Giving up means returning to partial normal life, and eventually resulting in a stable economy for the area.
Israel won't let them have a stable economy. The road blocks are for making it hard to travel between Gaza and the West bank as well as anti-terrorism.
If Palestine stop fighting eventually it will just completely dissolve into Israel.

I don't think anyone has said they hate Jews.
I hate Israel, not Jews or Israeli civilians, they are caught up in this shit storm as much as the Palestinians.

I've hated Israel for years.
This is a conflict that I personally have an interest in. I've looked into it a lot, I'm not completely clueless. I have a friend at college from Palestine, his family left after their house was bulldozed in the West Bank, so he moved here rather than try and live in Jordan.
I feel so strongly on the issue that in the past couple of days I've thought very seriously about going over and offering my services, since I have a 2 week break coming up after new year.

Ah, so we can't have a say in any happenings outside of our country? Outside our own borders our opinions become null, is that it?
No, we can't have empathy for the people hurt on both sides of this conflict, or be angry at those propagating it.
Besides, I see no problem in hating a government, your own or otherwise. Can't we acknowledge both have committed atrocities? Oh wait, I forgot, we can't have an opinion on the matter.
You're an idiot.
Of course I am, I'm not hopping on the bandwagon now am I?
Thanks for proving my point.
And to the other guy, go ahead - go join the effort. I commend you for trying to understand the reasoning behind the occupation and replacing your confusion with hatred

Read up. All of it. It'll all make sense why Israel is acting the way it is.

Yes. Because your opinions are then completely unfounded as you have no primary knowledge of the location, as you do not live there. You can still have an opinion, sure - but you're going to get laughed at if you try and assume the moral high ground for either side.
If you're following the 'empathy' argument, you can go ahead and hate everybody involved in the conflict on both sides, since they're all responsible for it. It's terrible that civvies are getting caught up in this on either side, and that I agree with. Just as far as the occupation goes, I, nor anyone else outside of the involved countries can say which side is right or wrong.

'Your point' if you can call your mindless drivel a point, is that everyone is jumping on your imaginary 'I HATE JEWS' bandwagon. But I don't hate Jews. I simply think you're an idiot. An opinion reinforced by the fact you don't think people who have studied a conflict don't have a right to comment on it.

So one atrocity deserves another in kind does it? I'm glad to know that while bandwagoning is bad, vengeance is fine.

Tell me, where have I assumed the moral highground for anyone? Where has anyone in this thread said Palestine is blameless?
As I do.
