They need to stop trying to hide their fuckup before it gets too out of hand. At this rate, everyone will go back to Ustream or something.

I think this is the best explanation of the drama yet: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=LLUNmnUN
I have nothing wrong with mascot characters or cartoons as emoticons. But Twitch is all about putting up faces and shit as avatars. There's really not much difference between the fursona and all the mod face emoticon bullshit otherwise, and I'm in general not a fan of any of that.

When some moderator(who already is on bad terms with much of the community) makes his totally unimportant boyfriend's fursona as an global emote I can see why people get upset.

Still pretty silly, all of this drama over an emote.
the only problem id have with twitch's downfall (which is frankly not gonna happen because of something like this) is all the dudes that live off streams losing money
I know both of these people semi-personally, and I feel bad for both of them. He's shut down his FA and started to remove Steam friends, AND he lost his boyfriend. what I don't get is why people haven't bitched about the horror emoticon that has been on the site for.... 2-3 years now? but yeah lol really mature of all of these moba game streams to name their streams "REMOVE TWITCH HAHA FURRY XDDD" lmfao grow up. [editline]20th November 2013[/editline] oh, and the emoticon they added wasn't even from porn, it's a completely separate SFW image. like, what the fuck
example #543245 of what happens when you go complete retard.
Apparently it's been there for 2-3 years. Still pretty silly, all of this drama over an emote.
it's not over the emote. If you read the thread, you would see this. We're pissed off because they banned a person for a joke, and is then censoring anything being said about it
though the emote is pretty shitty tbh i mean jesus it looks like one of those neon-vomit colored wolf OCs from deviantart
Some user from r/pcmasterrace was being sort of annoying (the usual) and the mods of /gaming reacted in the absolute worst way possible It was later blown up by other users to the point where they doxxed synbios, which ended in /r/pcmasterrace being banned, which was unjustified and pissed off a lot of people
A little off-topic, but that seems extremely fake to me. This is the first time I'm hearing about the pcmasterrace thing, though, so forgive me if it was proven true later. The guy's acting extremely polite and formal and the mod just tells him to go fuck himself and goes "trolololololo"? I don't think any real moderator can be as stupid to assume that he can just do that (because he cares about consoles that passionately, I guess?) and expect to get off completely unharmed. It's also very, very easy to find the font they use on any website, go into MS Paint and write over the words - especially if it's on a site like imgur where all EXIF data is wiped.
it's not over the emote. If you read the thread, you would see this. We're pissed off because they banned a person for a joke, and is then censoring anything being said about it
It did start over an emote. If it wasn't added into the global list, no drama. Horror would be still a shit mod and no one would be banned, none of this silly shit would have happened. Not to say that a backlash against Twitch from the users over Horrors ridiculous mod abuse wouldn't happen one way or another.
I'm so glad I was on holiday for most of this, or that some of my favorite streamers didn't get involved in this garbage the only emoticon we'll ever need is this
seeing all this reddit censorship and how anyone with influence can get anything removed there makes me feel good to be a facepunch member.
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1r459u/multiple_twitchtv_users_banned_over_trying_to_get/ Put that up on /r/gaming. Not the best put together thing but I think it gets most of it taken care of in a short read.
I just dont really understand the wave or rage over an emote being added. Like, are you forced to use it? No. I can understand if it was a porn emote or something, that's messed up. But it just seems dumb that people think they have to agree with EVERYTHING on a large website. I know Horror did way more then that, and he's a lame person, but just the original source of the rage is strange to me.

The mods are on high alert deleting any new and existing (if any is left on the subreddit) posts about this whole thing.
Ok then let me throw it over onto /r/games also from what I can see, it isn't removed which is weird.
Oh god the internet is exploding everybody run

We could just post them all.
Ok then let me throw it over onto /r/games also from what I can see, it isn't removed which is weird.
It's how reddit and similar websites work. No one can see the post but you, and I guess the mods and administration.
