Not right now, no, but if shit went down I'd rather see Israel get out on top than Iran (ignoring their geological position somewhat) or something.
If America cut all ties off with Israel and Iran openly attacked Israel, there would still be a retaliation around the globe in some world. Most nations don't condone open aggression like that regardless of reasons (which Iran doesn't really have anyway).
Since the US Dollar is so prolific, many places in the world accept it in addition to their own currency. But the thing is that once this money goes abroad, it almost never comes back to the US and is effectively removed from the US economy. This effect is called Seniorage, and it's a good thing to have. By removing dollars from the monetary system, you make the remaining dollars more valuable.
What? Seniorage is the difference between the value of the money and the cost to produce it. By the simple fact that most money is now digital, this isn't really a big concern anymore. And making remaining dollars more valuable by removing money? That's called deflation, and it's REALLY bad. Also, the USA should cut off /all/ aid to Israel.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_foreign_aid#Recipients
That list is surprisingly smaller than I expected.
why israel over iran? both are states of terror. one just plays sorta nice with the americans.
I get Israel is bad, but you're seriously delusional if you don't think Iran is worse.
Just a heads up this article was from February
Enough with @#$!ing Israel. They are not America's problem. They're not anyone's problem except for a bunch of nuts who consider it the "holy land" and fight over it and will hopefully all be dead one day. Seriously, just evacuate and glass the @#$!ing place.
Just a heads up this article was from February
Starpluck is Judge Dredd, he is above the law
How ironic that only 100 years ago, almost everybody hated the Jewish for no good reason, and now almost everybody seems to love Israel for no good reason.
It's literally the most widespread peer pressure experiment ever made.
I get Israel is bad, but you're seriously delusional if you don't think Iran is worse.
how is iran worse?

Destroying a historical site with nuclear armaments is one thing, but saying the word "fuck" is just downright risque.
Starpluck is Judge Dredd, he is above the law
You can't ban me, I AM THE LAW!
Just ban lobbying. Let people decide what or who to support.
Just ban lobbying. Let people decide what or who to support.
But then the lobbyist would turn to the media, Oh wait.
But then the lobbyist would turn to the media, Oh wait.
Honestly, I really don't see that much media coverage about Israel either which way, let alone America's support of it.
I get Israel is bad, but you're seriously delusional if you don't think Iran is worse.
Honestly Iran isn't occupying another country and actively stealing land from and ruining Palestinians. In the grand scheme of things Iran is more desirable, even if they do enforce, in comparison to a country like Saudi Arabia, moderate Islamic law.
In the grand schemes of things, Israel is paradise compared to North Korea.
Yeah.
There's dozens of countries that get aid from the US. Israel just gets singled out because no one likes Israel.
Because we support their civil rights abuses when we bitch at China for them. Hell we banned China from our space station but let Israelis on it
In the grand schemes of things, Israel is paradise compared to North Korea.
Anywhere is a paradise compared to North Korea.
Anywhere is a paradise compared to North Korea.
My point was, saying "in the grand scheme of things" is rather pointless and arbitrary.
My point was, saying "in the grand scheme of things" is rather pointless and arbitrary.
It is a reasoned opinion, and I do have a point in my opinion.
Just ban lobbying. Let people decide what or who to support.
Lobbying can not be banned without a bit of constitution editing. Aside from that which "people" would you have decide? (Note:those people are then lobbyists)
It is a reasoned opinion, and I do have a point in my opinion.
Which is still arbitrary.
I'm usually pretty apathetic towards Israel, but this is an outright insult. By no means should we ever consider this. We need to put our own citizens first.

The US economy could use a small amount of deflation right now to counteract the rampant inflation we've been experiencing for the past few years. The cost of living has skyrocketed and jobs (at least around here) are few and far between. The ones that do exist have barely livable wages and are subject to fierce competition.
I'm glad you censored that. It would betray my considerable maturity and reasonable-ness. Fine, evacuate, do an archaeological dig, then glass the place.

It means a decrease in prices, and makes people less willing to spend by waiting for a future time to buy. A lot of speculation is also common, and a deflationary currency makes you more vulnerable to very harsh market crashes. It's why the bitcoin will never become a serious currency too. Also it was my understanding that increasing employment goes hand in hand with increased inflation, not the other way around.
Which is still arbitrary.
not really because he was comparing iran and israel, not iran, israel, and north korea. his point is valid. [editline]20th April 2013[/editline] and it's in fact useful in this context because it was made regarding someone else stating israel is objectively better than iran. [editline]20th April 2013[/editline]
Deflation is bad though. It means a decrease in prices, and makes people less willing to spend by waiting for a future time to buy. Also it was my understanding that increasing employment goes hand in hand with increased inflation, not the other way around.
in modern economics is certainly does. inflation is important in a growing economy because it means that more people are employed, more people are buying things, and more people trust the currency. you might say deflation of currency is good because it lowers prices or w/e, but deflation of the greater economy is an indicator(although i don't think a cause) of serious market problems. [editline]20th April 2013[/editline] if your currency is inflating, it's good. if it's hyperinflating, that's bad. if it's deflating, that's extra bad.
how is iran worse?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iran/9831727/Iran-unveils-finger-amputating-machine-for-use-on-thieves.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment_in_Iran#Adultery.2Fsex_crimes_.28zina.29 Capital punishment for minors was removed last year, though a judge can still sentence a 15-18 to death in special cases. You can get killed for having sex outside marriage, and in general the land is partying like it's 1499 law wise. A girl from my class is from Iran, and she tells about how they had to keep a marriage secret to the state (and this is apparently very normal) to not be arrested for it. Sorry, but no matter what shit Israel has done, Iran is worse in so many fucking ways it's not even funny. I feel for the Palestinian people, and I think the way Israel was conceived is fucking stupid, but you guys seem to think they're literally Satan.
