It was a reasonable assumption to make. This is just a case of stick it in her pooper overreacting and then, when being called out for his little outburst, resorting to personal attacks.
That's exactly it! Thanks for putting that in perspective for us all
Bless your soul
Yet he made a correct assumption on what I meant from my post. Someone just does not jump halfway across the globe to go to a college where the cost for out of state tuition is going to be fucking out there.
Scholarship + when kids turn 18 here they receive 2,000 euros that the parents had to pay for their whole life until that point. If you're a parent it's like social security tax that is automatically taken from your paycheck each week. It's not difficult to qualify for scholarships due to the strictness of the Education systems here, people can't pick or transfer classes, they learn astrophysics in the 9th grade etc. etc.
So, what, did the shooter top himself or did someone else kill him?

They wont say yet. They are still looking into it.
Oh wow he's still at large? I always wonder how they find them later.

He might be dead. They just are not sure if it is him or not.
THIS JUST IN:
The shooter used Colgate brand toothpaste
SHOULD WE PULL COLGATE TOOTHPASTE OFF THE SHELVES?

If VT is any prestigious at all it'll accept good international students.
I'm happy the shootings stopped though. Sad that two people died and they haven't caught him, though.

You rated me dumb because you think I'm implying they don't accept international students? I'd be mighty pleased if a qualified international student deem VTech good enough to fly across the globe to attend
In the U.S. News & World Report's 「Best Colleges 2011」, Virginia Tech ranked 69th among national universities and 30th among national public universities.[16] In a more recent report, the Virginia Tech College of Engineering undergraduate program was ranked 13th in the nation (tied with Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison) among all accredited engineering schools that offer doctorates and seventh among engineering schools at public universities.[citation needed] Six Virginia Tech undergraduate engineering specialties ranked among the top 20 of their respective peer programs (aerospace engineering, 10th; civil engineering, 7th; electrical engineering, 17th; engineering science and mechanics, 8th; environmental engineering, 9th; industrial engineering, 4th; and mechanical engineering, 14th, Biological System Engineering, 8th). Its graduate program in Engineering is considered among the first 20 in US, among all public and private universities, with strong emphasis on intensive interdisciplinary research.
Not the greatest but not crappy by a long shot.

Sorry. Meant to rate you disagree, and him dumb for calling it a "crap school." My b, it's been a long day with preparing for next week's finals and dealing with todays and tomorrows.
And disagree since I thought you were implying that VT wouldn't accept students halfway around the world.

It's all good. Didn't mean to seem to get riled up over a rating myself.

Clemson's not that much higher than VT (25th in national public universities this year), but we have a really big share of international students due to our engineering, science, and architecture programs. I figured VT is probably the same way. I've never been to VT before though so I guess I really shouldn't start making assumptions.
Jesus fuck noone cares about Estonia

What don't you get
My sister goes there, we always joked with her about going there because of the '07 shooting. Luckily she was in an area where she didn't even hear the shots, the entire school was locked down for quite awhile and students weren't even allowed to get food in the dining halls that were in the same building as them.

When he got offended.
From what I hear from a friend that works closely with local law enforcement, it will probably be a few days before they manage to sort through all the different accounts of what happened and release an official report.
When he got offended.
yeah
offended by a comment towards a third world country I am not even native to and could care less about -- right

And nobody who is actually smart, doesnt give a fuck about US.
You really cant sympathize a nation, which has stubbornly deciced to be an idiot.
A third world country? Get your fucking facts right. Half of your american buddies don't even know simple geography or know english worse then the people living in the Baltic States. By a measure of education you're the third world citizen.
if you were an international student I have no idea why'd you study anything undergrad or more than 3 years in the US, especially a school like vtech
Australia is where it's at lads
also what's the bet this could have been solved by better CCW laws

Driving both upside down and on the wrong side of the road.
I'll skip.

Virginia's CCW laws are pretty simple. You take a concealed carry course and apply for a permit with the county in which you reside. the real issue is campus carry laws. There has been debate over whether or not to allow students to CC; with most of the debate bing about VTech itself iirc.

ah okay, so it's a shall carry state
is it likely that the campus carry laws will change anytime soon?

If stuff like this keeps happening it's likely that they'll ban it. There's a relatively strong contingency of people who are advocating for allowing it though using the logic that they could prevent these sort of shootings themselves if they had their firearms on them; which I cannot say I disagree with. But on the other hand more guns in a situation means more rounds going off in different directions.
Blacksburg, Virginia (CNN) -- The suspected Virginia Tech shooter was not a student at the university, school spokesman Larry Hincker said Friday.

I was just wondering about you.

Considering I live in Estonia, and you do not, and given the fact that my fiancee is at the top of her class at the best source of education here -- it's a third world country and my facts are "straight". She doesn't even want to reside in this lousy "left out" part of the world. Most people here have never even heard of video games, hell, there isn't even a real weather station and the only news sites update once in 24 hours.
There are no brand name products(clothing/food)/restaurants (no delivery/catering), technology is overpriced, VAT, bad cable with nothing to watch, rude racist population where 80% of young males are alcoholics, dark by 3:00pm, harsh winters, dying currency/language -- oh and the best part: forced military conscription of at-least 2-3 years for all adult males. It costs 300 dollars up front to have anything delivered here.
No force on Earth or Heaven could make me want to be here any longer than I need to be, and since you're right next to us in Latvia, I'm not sure learning "proper" English makes up for the bland shit east-Europe life you're going to live. If anything, their education and internet freedom are the ONLY real justification for living around here, it doesn't really redeem itself.
That aside, yes, "half of my fellow American buddies" don't pay attention in school and would rather watch the Kardashians on TV all day. (lol or would you rather them learn Latvian? Don't think so)
What's wrong with VAT?
[editline]10th December 2011[/editline]
Cable is bad everywhere.
[editline]10th December 2011[/editline]
I'd rather they learn Latvian than watch the Kardashians.
