"Yeah man who are you to tell us what love is? I love them equally! Legalize multiple wives!"
:v:
the only reason it's illegal is because of taboo caused by religiosity
limiting a gene pool to such close relatives isn't good though and increases the risk of birth defects obv
Actually it's because we are instinctually repulsed by sexual thoughts of individuals we spent a lot of time with during adolescence. I forget what the effect is called, but it's why kids have no sexual thoughts about their siblings whether they are biologically related or were adopted.
Basically, on a very fundamental level, we want to seek mating prospects outside of our immediate range. Similarly, we find it repulsive to see others spurning that instinct.
This sounded like something awesome for about two posts.

Wait, Polygamy is still illegal?
Whatever, you can still have orgies.
How did a thread about polygamist marriage turn into people talking about threesomes orgies and "i expected chicks i see in pornos"

How could have it turned out any way else?
Twincest?
This sounds like a bad Seinfeld episode. Jerry starts dating a woman while George unknowingly dates her twin sister. Then they go to the cafe and try to decide if they can be "polygamy guys". Maybe Kramer joins a conjoined twins social group or something.

even if you want to talk about the science behind it, the illegality of it has always been backed from a religious perspective, which was what my post was about
everyone on FP expects to marry a supermodel

Yeah that's not hot anymore
My grandmother and her identical twin... When they were younger, they used to swap dates and stuff. No one ever knew any wiser until we were all talking about it one day and my grandfather was all like 'WOT.'
Pretty hilarious hearing them recount it.

I don't expect to marry anyone
at least I'm being realistic
Guys polygamy would have some really exploitable tax mechanics. Not saying that couldn't be accounted for somehow, but still
