How do these work anyway? Do they have copies of the disc or is it a genuine one? What about late movie returns? Do you return them at all or is there some kind of timelimit on them somehow?
If the Blockbuster kiosks work like Redbox, then...
1. They are all genuine copies, but they have a large stamp on them.
2. Most movie kiosks charge 1 dollar per day. They don't have set days for you to bring them back, you just keep paying 1 dollar per day. Oh yeah, gotta use a credit card. I've heard that some Redbox kiosks accept paypal, but I haven't seen one.
3. They have a slot for you to return movies. There is no set timelimit.
Does anyone even go to Blockbuster anymore? I mean really let's be honest here, people rather just go to the movie theater or sit at home infront of the tv or their computer and watch a damn movie. The only upsetting thing about them shutting down is the fact our unemployment rate might go a bit higher sadly.
I also don't want to drive all the way out to the store just to find out they don't have any copies of something, or that I just can't find anything I wanna watch.
I also don't want to go back to the store a bizillion times because all the DVDs they have are SCRATCHED AS FUCK.
I used to mess around in there as a kid. Good thing they're not shutting down over here in the UK. When I used to go, literally no one would be in there, but we still get most DVD rentals from there.
I miss going there every Friday after school to get a new game to play. Oh well, out with the old, in with the new.

Oh that's good. I sometimes rent games from BB
we still got blockbusters here in Canada .

I used to have an independent video store across the street from my old apartment that I would rent from and 25% of the movies I rented had to be returned because they were scratched to shit. And I mean, it was as if someone had taken an exacto knife to them, not just wear and tear scuffs and marks.

Not for long probably. Rogers just went down, although there is a Rogers video store just down the street from me and I don't understand why, if they're out of that business.

I really don't understand why people don't look after their shit. I get really fucked off if I lent something of mine to a friend and it comes back scratched.

Same thing here, man... do people used to rent movies at Blockbuster to use them as frisbees or some crap?? I'll never understand it

+1. I always complained about that; After all, it wasn't really so hard to track down the perpetrators... all they had to do is make sure whoever returned the movie didn't mess up the DVD so badly or else he/she'd have to pay for it.
My local one got shut down and turned into the HQ of a political party.
Hollywood Video went under too....
:sigh: I miss game rentals.
Just shut down, Blockbuster. No one wants to pay four dollars for a movie rental anymore.
Fuck you, I do
I always rent mah blu-rays at Blockbuster.
Gonna miss old Blockbuster.
I remember when it was the highlight of my week when we got to go to Blockbuster and rent a new video game.
I remember in my neighborhood their was this awesome movie store, like blockbuster. My family used to go their all the time when we were young and get random movies to watch. Then one day, it closed down. I was too little then to understand why, but it still depress me to this day.

Should be about 50p to a quid, dvds and movies are dirt cheap these days and you can watch whatever online now anyway.
blockbuster is fine in canada
Blockbuster is outdated, noone rents around here.
Noone pays for movies around here...
I used to rent N64 games and movies from a local place around here called "The Movie Station", then about the time DVD's became popular, they went under so I had to go about 10 miles down the road to Blockbuster. Man, I wore the shit out of their copies of "Dynasty Warriors 3". Now that online rentals are booming, it has suffered the same fate as "The Movie Station".
It's really kind of a shame to see it go. I remember waiting in anticipation for every Friday afternoon when I would go to rent a game for the weekend.
:(
gunna miss them

actually i heard the ones in canada are fine they wont be closing down.
Ugh, I feel like by the time i'm 30 everything will be done online and everyone will be fat shut ins since they hardly have to ever do anything for themselves
:sigh:
I always liked going to rental places with friends, it's so much more fun than huddling around a screen looking for a movie to watch
I love the Smell of Blockbusters
This is why they should have hired me.
Good. Blockbuster can go fuck itself.
Goodnight.. Sweet prince :sigh:
I go to blockbuster all the time! D:
You can't stream Blu-Ray movies online (not with my speed anyways) I would rather rent it from the store so I can watch it on my big screen tv.
Blockbuster made the end of the school week less boring. They close the BB near me at least two years ago, it's unfair. Fuck you Netflix!
Ah, Blockbuster. I will miss them, as my family would walk there sometimes.
However, I'm pretty sure Blockbuster had shut down this place called "Mammoth Video," where I rented Mario Party 2 for the first time. :(. Also it had a sweet walk-in Little Caesars with this creepy ass picture of some kind of Aunt puckering up. *Shudder* Wait, where was I?
