Sen. Hatch is the new Louis XVI.
Except the politically sedated population of the United States won't do shit to stop this.
Edit
When is the last time we heard of a group of americans standing up and saying "hey hey wait people, hold the fuck on here. The rethoric these republican senators and representatives have been spouting the last few months or so has been balls-to-the-walls fucking insanely bigoted and retarded, and someone should have offed these morons for the betterment of mankind several years ago". Oh wait it hasn't happened, ever.
That's like saying the warrior of your group isn't casting enough buffs.

Stop what? This is one senator maybe proposing something. Even if he did try to introduce it as a bill or amendment, the Democrat-controlled Senate would never approve it.

Not just the proposal, the state of your political arena as a whole. You've got complete and utter morons running your country and the rest of the world can only watch while they drag the nation and its economy down the shitter, while the american people does nothing. I.e american politics is a joke with a very sad punchline

It's not a thing we (defined as: voting age younger americans from the moderate right to center to full left) can exactly fight, because our interests are almost entirely detached from our political system by way of things like lobbies. Maybe it's just my being in Wisconsin after the collective bargaining protests, but...well, you saw the protests. They didn't do jack shit. Well documented and quantified public opinion stands opposed to a lot of things going on here, and none of it means anything because we're not the ones giving golf trips and hookers to the politicians.
There is no clean approach here, we have a political and cultural cancer that'll take decades to clean off and to suggest we're doing "nothing" is almost offensive.

Just so you know, the French Revolution was kicked off when the food ran out. People had nothing to eat, and the fat cats at the top were all "Hurr durr, no bread? Eat cake!"
If food in the United States runs out, (an unlikely scenario at the moment) the people in charge will have problems. But not before then.

Wow...Really ?
( Also stereotypical corrupt republican )
Where the fuck is Glaben?
It's not the people the government should target for taxes, it's those big corporations that owe money to the gov't and just let it build up. They should crack down on them.
I hate this state, time to move ... AGAIN!
Actually no wait, we have fast internet; and I don't want to move to Topeka.

I'm perfectly aware of the conditions surrounding the French revolution. I'm not suggesting the american people should throw a revolt, that'd be a tad over the top. Just.. a reaction, a sane voice demanding some fucking sanity.

You mean like the protests in Wisconsin or the many over the Iraq War?
Who's gonna throw the americans in :downs:
The Native Americans.

Yeah, that's the sad thing. If people here protest peacefully the government just kinda shrugs it off and says "Yeah yeah I'll get 'round to it" when in reality they're more or less just plugging their ears and saying "LALALALALALALALALALALALALet's go play golf."
On the other more extreme end of the "make the government listen" spectrum, which is forced removal of the people in question (which is a constitutional right I believe), well, it'd take one hell of an event to get enough people behind that.

They are trying to remove Scott Walker, the Wisconsin Governor, from power, however there is a mandatory waiting period before they can do so.

How long is that?(dumb question)
I remember whilst playing Victoria revolutions a bug occurred that if the certain technologies were researched and certain events occurred, you could tax people over 100% of their income.
An interesting concept in itself that the Republicans seem to have adopted.
The wealth is really trickling down now.
How long is that?(dumb question)
It is exactly a year after they've taken office if I recall correctly.

How any-one with even basic education can believe in something as borderline retarded as trickle-down economics is beyond me.

In very few situations it has worked. For example during the 18th century the French economy wasn't doing too well. Most rich people in the country lived as aristocratic landowners who sat on top of piles of money and accrued interest that they lived off.
The state decided to encourage the aristocrats to start spending their cash. For example a rich man could buy a high class prostitutes services for say 1000 francs. She would then spend say 500 francs on a good dress for herself. The dressmaker would then spend the money on say a pair of boots, and in turn the cobbler could buy himself a meal in a tavern with it.
I am not too sure how well it worked, but France seemed to be doing relatively well until the state ran out of money, and unwisely decided to bleed every Frenchman dry.
Someone in my year at school thinks that poor people should pay more taxes than rich people, and stating that all rich people work hard for the money while poor people don't.
could it be that theyre poor in the first place because of tax itself?
taxed on money we earn
taxed on money we spend
taxed on money we save
