It's not as populated as CSS was. The point I was trying to make is they butchered custom servers, you can't even join through friends to get to custom servers. They have to invite you. It's like it was an afterthought this time around.
No no, you can join servers if you click View Game info. I'm not sure what game you're playing. If anything, playing with friends on custom maps is easier since you just got to get in a lobby and then start the game. None of that port forwarding stuff or finding a dedicated server for just you guys. And as much as I hate it, dedicated custom servers aren't as popular because CS:GO is really emphasized on matchmaking and classic play. It kind of was an afterthought but it's not butchered in anyway, people can still do what they always did.
Ha ha oh wow.
I already was disinterested in the game when it was made clear that space battles and Clone Wars were a no show, but now...
Well thanks for making me save $60 EA.
"Hey nobody likes what we're doing again. Let's just ignore them again since we know better what they want."
Actually, the response would just be "You're just acting like an entitled baby."
any excuse for this on their end is just to justify those big dolla EA map packs since no custom content

I wouldn't say so, they can disallow custom maps anyway. I think its just laziness. There is no good reason not to have a server browser. They know they can get away with it though. Everyone is still going to buy it.

40 player cap too
Let's face it - the only people who do not feel the need for a server browser are the ones who wouldn't have used it in the first place, since there are zero drawbacks in using a server browser.
For those complaining that server browsers are satan incarnate, why not just make it so that Battlefront 3 has a matchmaking option that allows players to connect on official servers, and a browser option for community and official servers. Win win for people that like matchmaking and server browsers.

I use the browser in CSGO. Battlefront switching to matchmaking isn't going to turn me off it. There are plenty of other games with only matchmaking that have a thriving social atmosphere.
You get paired up with a group of randoms, communicate, click, and add each other. This isn't going to be any different.

Rocket League only has matchmaking and I've been able to add and talk to and play games with randoms.

there's no problem with this if the maps are designed around it lmao

How would it be laziness? Matchmaking is much more complex to implement rather than having each game server connect to a central hub server, which players can use to browse.

I don't understand any other rational other than they didn't want to bother with it.
Won't people just leave if they're in a map they don't like? Won't this cause people to leave the game as soon as they join? What's the point of such a retarded system?
Jesus fuck.

Shit, that's what I do in matchmaking only games. "Ohh fuck, its this awful map/gamemode? Fuck that, back to searching."
And another reason why you shouldn't buy this game. Matchmaking is one of the worst mechanics in video games.
Not in and of itself but just when it's the only option.
lord christ how dumb can people be? If the devs aren't to blame and they had no choice due to shitty management or timelines, whatever happened, someone at EA is a fucking moron.
Like, you just don't not have lobbies.
FOR EXAMPLE...Like what if we took out every lobby of every single business building in New York City. You step in the elevator, you have to push a random button and you end up on the wrong fucking floor, unless you got incredibly lucky!
"Sorry sir this isn't the Happy Ending massage parlor, this is a floor that doesn't exist, how the hell did you end up here sir? I'm going to have to detain you. Stop resisting!"
No, I don't want to play fucking cs_compound on a rotation with surf maps, I'm here for 24/7 cs_office! Like, FUCK ME RIGHT?
I don't understand any other rational other than they didn't want to bother with it.
Because server browsers are shit? Ask anyone who's played Project Cars on PS4.

???
Because server browsers are shit? Ask anyone who's played Project Cars on PS4.
One game didn't work well with a server browser so server browser's in general are shit?
[editline]10th September 2015[/editline]
How are they shit anyway
Because server browsers are shit? Ask anyone who's played Project Cars on PS4.
did you really think making a sweeping generalized statement about one of the core conventions of online multiplayer games and backing it up with project cars on ps4 was a good idea?
Because server browsers are shit? Ask anyone who's played Project Cars on PS4.
"Hey I remember how one feature of a game was shit so that automatically makes it a shitty feature regardless of any differences between gamres!"
INTO THE FUCKING TRASH RIP BATTLEFRONT
I get the feeling someone is going to find a way to get the game to connect to specific IPs, then just build a third party server browser or such. If EA doesn't backpedal on this (and they really should because it's pants on head retarded) then it will happen, never underestimate hackers/modders.
Because server browsers are shit? Ask anyone who's played Project Cars on PS4.
Or I'll use my own experience with server browsers being fine to not make retarded generalizations rather than trust your single example.
That'd be the not idiotic thing to do.
Imagine actually being hyped for this game.
Server browsers are fucking shit and unnecessary. Because what happens is you easily spend a lot of time waiting in a queue for a server because everyone else already goes to the populated servers, and no one goes to the empty servers with spare capacity. Matchmaking solves that, and it's just less of a pain.
That's completely stupid and wrong.
[editline]13th September 2015[/editline]
Ton of games have had both options, there's no reason to not do that.
