You think this is bad? We elect judges in the US.
My dad said about 10 people came into the polling office he had to monitor.
If I campaigned for it does that mean I could of had a chance at winning?
I had completely forgotten when the voting date was and even if I did I wouldn't know who I would've been voting for anyway. I saw no advertisements regarding the matter, not even a leaflet thats normally sneaked through the letter box before elections.
I'm English and I don't know what the fuck it was for either :v:
Well fuck me, I called that one wrong. EDIT: Screw you BBC, don't give me links that don't have what they say they have in them. The candidate for "Zero Tolerance Policing" won.
I'm part of the 90%
tory won here at 12.8% hooray democracy......
Our area elected a Tory Predictable Ah he's apparently the former assistant chief constable though. Only him and the Lib Dem candidate had a police background

huge waste of time and money
Our area elected a Tory Predictable Ah he's apparently the former assistant chief constable though. Only him and the Lib Dem candidate had a police background
When people without a police background can run for this you know something is wrong.
I kept hearing an advert on the radio that said, "you should be received a leaflet telling you everything you need to know about the vote through the post", no one I know received anything
We got a card telling us where/when to vote but no information about who was running or anything. I know my parents didn't vote because they had no idea what it was about/for.

Some nice recursive logic there.
An awesome collection of spoiled voting papers: http://pccspoil.tumblr.com/ My personal favorite:
The leaflets from candidates consisted of insults to other parties really is too political

Upon hearing about this I was excited to be able to vote for the first time. Sadly I knew fucking nothing about any candidates and the only info I received was the date and location of the voting office. Shit cunts.
Glad I ended up spoiling my ballot. Democracy in action (hopefully)!
It got next to no bloody advertisement so what did they expect. I saw my local area's candidates on the news for about 10 minuets and all of them we're so far removed from reality that i didn't want any of them. I mean their policies we're all equally pointless and EVERY single one of them said they would cut police spending as one of their top priorities. Fuck right off, i want to see more police on the streets and less of the fake coppers not the other way around.
I was considering spoiling my ballot but I decided not to vote at all after I realised that spoiled ballots contribute to the turnout figures.
Just heard they spent nearly £100 million (Don't know if that includes their wages for 4 years) on this. Oh, and also cutting the entire police budget.
I was going to vote but then I realized I don't actually care at all I imagine that's how everyone else felt
The independent that won in Kent was voted for by just about every police officer in the county. And I think it was just us that voted.
I didn't even know it was happening.
I'm in the UK and this is the first time I'm hearing of this vote. [editline]17th November 2012[/editline] Oh wait, this was a non-London thing? That'll probably be why.
Both my candidates were useless. I chose to vote for neither of them.
I voted. The problem was I had to search what I was voting for. None of the parties actually gave out any information what so ever, yeah I saw the posters saying who I could vote for but not one said what they was going to do. Now I have a feeling they will do nothing, so nothing to see here lol
My candidates were all "We'll improve policing and put more officers on the street." I was like "Fuck that, they try to give me £30 on-the-spot fines for mounting the pavement to avoid being ran over by the fucking terrible drivers in my town enough as it is."
