Oh my fucking god you people annoying the piss out of me.
This is about uniting gay people together and showing support, as well as bringing awareness. There is no need to unite straight people together to support each other, any reason to support straight people, and we certainly know straight people exist. Shut up about this already.
We are already aware that gays are around us. They don't need a month.
We are already aware that gays are around us.
gays are around me bro i can hear them
We are already aware that gays are around us. They don't need a month.
This is less for straight people, and more for gay people.
Not everything revolves around straight people.

Why should gays get special treatment? Thought we were all equal.
We are already aware that gays are around us. They don't need a month.
You are aware homosexuality exists.
That's nothing near the level of awareness and understanding that this is calling for
Why should gays get special treatment? Thought we were all equal.
Treat gays as equals and they won't need to strive for equality
Interesting.
Why should gays get special treatment? Thought we were all equal.
what does that have to do with equality
you're pretty much that really angry kid who says that the other kid got to have a candy bar why can't i have one too
Why should gays get special treatment? Thought we were all equal.
Did you read my post?
Pride is the opposite of shame. The whole point of pride is to affirm to gay people that they shouldn't be ashamed of being gay, and to recognise the contribution gay people have made to society.
I do see your point but America still has plenty of states where gay marriage isn't legal and you can get fired for being gay.
lol gays lol lesbians lol everything else
how about stop doing your pride months, races, marches
we get the fact that there is no such crap like "normal" person. That guy faps to animal porn, other guy could eat glass if he wanted to, other guy dreams about killing alliens, and that and that and other guy gets hard on when looking at young, fat boys.
But for fucks sake, if you want "tolerance" and "acceptation", stop showing other how different and original you are.

What, and instead be really quiet and not talk about it?
Oh yeah, that works really well.

So Blacks shouldn't have marched to Washington D.C.?
The Freedom Riders shouldn't have gone to the South and register Blacks to vote?
The SNCC shouldn't have sit in white-only establishments to get their point across?
Blacks should just shut up and let them get pushed around for a few more decades?
Gay's and Lesbians are practically fighting the same discrimination the Blacks had gone through about 50 years ago. You really think that having them to shut up and do nothing about it makes us more tolerant to them?
You bigoted fuck.
What, and instead be really quiet and not talk about it?

Yes. That would be great - full equality without attention whores yelling about how different than others they are.
But if it goes like this, every month should be declared for every other sexual view. Because this is what they want, be called different, not to be equal to other? Sure, let's move on - worse payments, towns for only that kind of sexual-view, just to make borderline punch you in the face
I don't give a shit. If you want equality, do it different way than attention whoring.

Neither does demanding everyone treat them a certain way.
The only thing they don't have is the right to marry everywhere. Give them that and they really can't say anything. People have likes and dislikes. Some people find gays disgusting but at the same time they shouldn't deny them of the rights that we have. But gays telling people that they have to like and accept them isn't going to happen.

Yeah we have been trying for years to keep gays out of the voting booths, and they have separate water fountains, and bathrooms and .... well you get the point.

I used to think you were cool.
Mehh, can't we just treat them like equals already and stop with the pampering? We get it, people fuck people with the same gender, it's not that much of a deal. Will the next mounth be "pride of owning a high-definition television"-mounth?
I used to think you were cool.
"nana, you have different opinion, you aren't cool anymore"
amazing arguing there bro

how about shallow month so we can honour you
I used to think you were cool.
I care why?
Funny how shallow peoples views on each other can be. Don't agree on some issues... lol ur not cool anymoar. :(
To clarify I ain't hatin' on them. Just saying that they need to respect others rights to disagree. Tolerance isn't something we have to be. Giving them rights, ok I can see that, but at the same time demanding that everyone be accepting isn't going to happen. However I personally feel no different about them then anyone else. Except for when they hit on me during gay days at Disney. I hate that.

Are you trying to say people shouldn't have tolerance?
Tolerance is just live and let live, it's not like you're telling people to go out and buttfuck someone.

Okay three things
1. I don't know of any gays that freak out when girls hit on them, so if we're so equal in your book, why do you freak out when gays hit on you?
2. Yes, yes you do have to be tolerant in a modern society. Intolerant people don't have any place in modern society (I know ironically that makes me intolerant of intolerant people, but you have to draw the meta-line somewhere)
3. The only way you ever get equal rights is by kicking up a fuss. The civil rights bill for black people didn't just happen. Neither did the decriminalisation of homosexuality. Equal rights require attention.

So uh... black people should respect the rights of others to discriminate against them? Tolerance is the minimum necessity. Acceptance is something not all people can do, but all people can and must bring themselves to tolerate.
Except for when they hit on me during gay days at Disney. I hate that.
Why? They think you're cute/hot/something else nice. It's a compliment.
Except for when they hit on me during gay days at Disney. I hate that.
GET OFF OF ME i aint gay
what the fuck is gay days
GET OFF OF ME i aint gay

Gay days are when thousands of gays lesbians and whathaveyous go to Disney wearing red shirts. It's some big thing that has been going on for years now and gets bigger every year. Like a rally but not. There are seminars and shit at nearby hotels. It's a big gay pride thing. It's good for business I guess.
how about shallow month so we can honour you
What's so shallow about seeing them as regular human beings rather than another minority to shower with sympathy to win votes and renown as a politician?
I think you got the definition of shallow abit wrong there, since it's been shown that the best way to make a different kind of people suit the average tightass out there is to treat them like regular people.
But why am I trying to explain this to you? Clearly you're one of those people who thinks that the slightest different approach to mindless patronising is deemed racism, hatred or homophobia. Even though it's the right way to go, don't raise anyone, don't lower anyone, keep it at the same level, then bang, we got equalness.
So uh... black people should respect the rights of others to discriminate against them? Tolerance is the minimum necessity. Acceptance is something not all people can do, but all people can and must bring themselves to tolerate.
Tolerance is good and people should at least be civil or tolerate others to an extent. However it isn't something they have to be. It isn't against the law to be intolerant. At least in public they should be. However for everyone to have acceptance of them isn't going to happen. I just see gays as population control. However all these rallys and things are for what? Equal rights correct? Well what rights do they not have besides the right to marry? They can vote, they don't get shoved to the back of the bus, they don't get refused service at restaurants.
Also doesn't anyone ever stop and think that not everything is discrimination? Like do you honestly think that every gay person that complains that he did not get a job because he is gay is right in that assumption? A lot of the time it is because they aren't qualified for the job. Or there was a better candidate. But because the person that got the job wasn't gay it's discrimination? It's not. Does it occasionally happen? Yes, it happens to every group still. Not just gays.
Clearly you're one of those people
I've posted this twice and you apparently haven't noticed it, so I'll make it a bit clearer.
:siren: The point of a gay pride month is that pride is the opposite of shame. It lets gay people out there who feel like they're dirty and wrong a message that there's nothing wrong with being gay and allows them to celebrate their difference rather than feel ashamed of it. :siren:
Facepunch's reaction is worthless as always.
