Obama declares June "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month"

I don't get these "pride" months. I'm all for LGBT rights and whatnot but what makes these months so different from any other month?
This is not merely my opinion.
This is not merely the opinion of the majority of people.
This is the opinion of God himself. He has proclaimed what is right, and what is wrong. His apostles and his disciples have written down his words within the Bible. He gives clear, definite answers to many problems that plague our society noways. He does not condemn people who have these types of peoples, but he condemns their actions. Now, we do not truly know what causes homosexuality, but most religious people are in recognition that it is not something that should be endorsed and encouraged. God loves all people, no matter what their life situations may be. He realizes that some people are homosexuals, and he has placed down his instructions for them. To engage in those types of acts are to go against his supreme power, but it is not a sin to simply be a homosexual. That is why I believe we must not have such a day, and I hope that in the future we may have enough knowledge to find out what causes homosexuality, and how to fix it.
So I suggest to all of you to read up more on your enemies, to find out what our beliefs truly are. God loves all people, but he condemns those that directly go against his instructions and his guidance. It has also been proven, in some cases, that people that have accepted God and the Holy Spirit within their lives have had much of their problems eradicated. Even homosexuality.
I thought June already was Gay pride month?
Edit:

Nevermind

He did it last year too, but he can't declare it for coming years.

Once a troll, always a troll.
Oddly enough, I HAVE been tapping into my Bisexuality a lot more this month, but I had no idea that this was Les, Gay, Bi, and Tranny month.

tranny can be seen as offensive, just so you know.
tranny can be seen as offensive, just so you know.
that's stupid
why do people always take a shortened form of a word as an insult
in before someone pulls this really long conspiracy about how obama is closet gay
that's stupid

oh, and fyi, nigger is just a different pronunciation of negro, which means simply "black"

I'm rooting for this chap, voicing his beliefs while the dogs tear him apart. True hero
Well it's about fucking time Obama... Now that your approval rating is falling, you start paying attention to the people again. Nice to know you care so much.
Either way, I'm going to celebrate this!

He's religious, so that gives him an advantage in persevering in the face of logic and rational thought.
He's religious, so that gives him an advantage in persevering in the face of logic and rational thought.
It takes away his capability to grasp the concepts of logic and rational thought, anyway.
tranny can be seen as offensive, just so you know.
Calling someone Black may offend them as well.
It's practically impossible to go through life without offending someone, so why get all bothered about it?
Sure, straight people need a pride month because in the 21st century, being straight carries a bad stigma and makes you targeted by retards and hate groups, right?
The only thing that this pride month will bring about is more attention to gays, which will only put more strain on how people view them.
If they really wanted to be treated equal they shouldn't try to flaunt it so much and attract so much attention. I can't really see how someone could take pride in their sexual orientation, its something you are born with.
I have nothing against gays I just think its ridiculous that they get their own month.
hardcore atheists up in this bitch

I can't simply prove it on the spot, religion and faith are not simple mere scientific things that can be proven in a flash. Go to a church, spend some time, and you will see the miracles that happen before your eyes. Otherwise, continue living within the confines of a material world, which all atheists are slaves too.
He's religious, so that gives him an advantage in persevering in the face of logic and rational thought.
Don't care, that's his choice.

Straight people got their own 11 months. But I'm sure there can be a furry pride month, if you really need it.
It needs to be "flaunted" because a lot of people still aren't aware of homosexuality, and how common it is within society.
If people are aware of their excistence and how common they are, the chance of acceptance is higher. It's easier to accept something you know excists and wont go away.

Again, I know if I was an mtf transexual, I'd be pretty pissed if I was called a tranny instead of a woman. it's definitely a pejorative
And I was more saying it to help you avoid getting chewed out in the future for it than anything. I'm not bothered.

No, it actually enhances both my logical and rational thought, though you would know nothing about this. You function within the limited mind-frame of an atheist, a mind that is focused on the immediate material goals and has absolutely no conception of faith. This effectively disables you, instead of being filled with the Holy Spirit (another entity you do not know about), you are simply an animal looking to advance your career, your lusty desires, and your never-ending quest to live the life. A faithful person knows that true realization of life exists not within this world, but in the next one; he knows that it is of the utmost importance to live a virtuous life in this world to attain the coveted position in heaven. Sadly, you are blind to this; sadly, you live a life of sin where you constantly deny that which is true and live a worthless life. But alas, all is not lost. You have plenty of time to realize the true path, and may God help you follow it.
I can hear them.
I can hear the rednecks.
They're screaming.

In fact, that post reminds me of something I posted here a very long time ago.
I have just one question; how do you know that the bible was written by God and not by God? If he really did use the apostles as tools to write the bible, like suggested, doesn't that mean books like "The Purpose Driven Life" should be a part of the bible as well?

I've spent far too long in Churches. I was christian once. All I saw was rhetoric and hate. If something cannot be supported by evidence or proven, it does not exist.

Well, let's go over this entity called the "Holy Spirit". It is part of the divine Trinity: God, Son of God, and the Holy Spirit. Those that are faithful are blessed and filled with the Holy Spirit, which acts as a guiding force in life. It guides people to do the right thing, it helps people discern from right and wrong, and it sometimes manifests itself in miracles. God has different plans for everybody, and he may even relieve some faithful people of their problems (diseases, disabilities...homosexuality). This is something that you yourself must go and witness, for I do not have the power to prove something of this grand nature over the internet.
