WHO says globally there have been 331 human deaths from 565 confirmed bird flu cases since 2003 when it was first detected.
And all of them were either old men, people with nasty diseases that lowered their immune system and kids.
Oh yeah and the common cold killed tens if not hundreds times more people since 2003 and now.
I hear the government invented the Flu on purpose.
It's true, they invented the flu before they even understood how microbiology works.
Cunning bastards.
Its starting!
desperate, etc.
Before the movie is even out.

I am immune (I hope)
Why would you suspend testing your animals for diseases that can spread to the human population? That's retarded.

Oh look, some new disease has come along and people are overreacting. Whatever happened to that swine flu?
It attempted to mess with Tarn Adams, and got the shaft as a result.
At no point in time did I request this.

First thing I thought of when i saw the title.
Every new flu is 'the one' that will kill millions
I find it bizarre how few people have heard of the Spanish flu.
I mean everyone's heard of the black death, the bubonic plauge that over the course of 300 years killed nearly 100 million.
Yet, in 1918, over the course of two mere years the Spanish flu managed to kill 100 million and yet half the people I know look like a questionmark when I mention it.

To be fair, Swine Flu was tackled quite well with public health precautions. It's quite possible that if nobody had given a fuck about swine flu, it could have killed considerably more people. The fact that public health precautions were effective is not an invitation to become complacent; these are potentially damaging illnesses.
The only freaky thing about this is it's similar to Dues Ex. Just like the first post said.
possible resurgence of the deadly bird flu virus
Pffft, the common flu is deadlier than the bird flu.
Pffft, the common flu is deadlier than the bird flu.
Yes, but bird flu sometimes causes something called hypercytokinemia, which means having a strong healthy immune system could be a bad thing - hence young adults die en masse. This is the mechanism thought to be behind Spanish Flu.

You have a single fact to back that up?

Just drop the computer and run, save yourself!
So does this new form of the virus spread from human to human or will you only be able to get infected from the birds?
It's viral advertising for that new "Contagion" movie.
