Dubai authoroties have welcomed the suggestion of moving the UN to Dubai. :) Those who think Dubai has gone broke are either learning their facts from British and American biased newspapers ot missing the fact that Dubai is part of the united arab emirates (a federal country that consists of seven major cities) and not a country itself. So if Dubai went broke, the capital city Abu Dhabi would always be there for it (and so would the rest of the Gulf countries). On the other hand, the UAE actually ranks 33rd on the list of indebted countries with $135 billion (billion, not trillion as the case with the US, the UK, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland....etc) which means the UAE's debts (including Dubai's) are not big compared to the debts of other countries. Not to mention , the UAE economy's points of strength, such as being an oil-exporting country with huge oil revenues that allow it to fulfill its obligations while carrying on the development process. Australia might be a good option (as someone here suggested), but don't you think it is kind of ironic to move the "united" nations to the most racist country in the world lol. In comparison, racism in Dubai is non-existent or at minimum (with more than 200 nationalities living side by side) making it the ideal spot on earth for the UN.
