the iphone is the best phone
Because losing reception makes a phone badass.
Because losing reception makes a phone badass.
All iPhones have had the same problem, and no one noticed it until this version.
You agreed to it when you updated iTunes and when your upgraded to iOS4. AT&T has every right to force the products using THEIR network to conform to their standards, and they have the right to set those standards wherever they so wish.
I, for one, see my phone as my property, not that of my carrier.
Second of all, the only information Apple get is your IP address, so they can connect two users.
Which is still nothing Apple should know
Third, the fucking video is encrypted using RTP and SRTP. Apple has created an open standard.
I don't think it's open yet.
Which is still nothing Apple should know
It's the same information phone networks have. How do you expect T-Mobile DE to know that your mates phone is on. It's because they keep an active database of which IMEI / phones are online and active. They need to know the information, otherwise how are they going to establish the peer to peer connection?
I don't think it's open yet.
The FaceTime standard isn't open yet, you are correct, however it's known what standards FaceTime itself uses, which included encrypted video streams, such as SRTP, which itself is an open standard.
If they do it by using unsecure wifi why not use a secure one then
If they do it by using unsecure wifi why not use a secure one then
Their supposed Apple Employee informer knows nothing about what they're talking about, that's why.
To sum up all of their current issues: -Back glass panel is fragile -If you cover the lower right part of the phone with your hand it drops calls (the antenna is external) -Apple monitors your FaceTime calls -SAR value is now 1.17 (from 0.8)
And Steve Job's fix for the problem? And I quote "Don't hold the phone like that" So basically don't hold the phone with your left hand. So if you are left handed and like to talk on the phone, don't get an iPhone because Apple doesn't support left handed people because you don't exist. Also, if you are right handed and you want to, I don't know, do something else while talking on the phone. You can't! So don't by an iPhone because they don't support you, because right handed people don't exist either.
iPhone: a phone so revolutionary, it takes a 3 year contract* and $200 for a phone that drops calls if you hold it with your left hand. *In Canada, it's 3 years, and I don't know of many cell phones that can last that long (the iPhone not being one of them)

Damn, and you can't even replace the battery without replacing the phone. That sucks.
I have an iPhone 3G. It's a great device, 2 years old and everything. I am in the UK. Here, you can buy an iPhone direct from Apple unlocked, contract free. If you are on O2, your phone can be unlocked for free (on contract) or £15 (pay as you go). Any problems? If you hate AT&T, get a phone from here unlocked. Now shut the fuck up.
codenamecueball, warranty is only valid in the country you purchase it in. Any problems? Yes.
All iPhones have had the same problem, and no one noticed it until this version.
From what I've heard just about any case you stick the thing it will immediately nullify the problem. It keeps you from grounding the signal with your hand.

for once its actually not funny they made mistakes on the new phone that are taken account for... they are unfortunate
What this fuck? [img_thumb]http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Apple-iPhone-4G.jpg[/img_thumb] This isn't an iPhone 4..Article is officially dumb
This is the largest load of shit I've read in ages. First of all, it's poorly written. Second of all, the only information Apple get is your IP address, so they can connect two users.
I wish they'd do it the same way everyone else did, make the operator put the connection through. [img_thumb]http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Apple-iPhone-4G.jpg[/img_thumb] This isn't an iPhone 4..Article is officially dumb
Looks like the article writer googled ''iPhone 4'' and chose the first image :v:
This isn't a flaw at all. This is merely a new social networking feature allowing a new level of interaction with other iPhone users. It's never been done before. -Steve Sent from my iPad
What's not a flaw?
What's not a flaw?
I was making fun of the way Steve Jobs defends apple products. The flaw being this facetime thing
There is no flaw in FaceTime. The whole article was unreferenced bullshit, made up by some guy to feel self important. But yes, SJobs responses are terrible.
Ignoring this current article, the biggest flaw in FaceTime is that it only works on other iPhone 4's.
Ignoring this current article, the biggest flaw in FaceTime is that it only works on other iPhone 4's.
Yes, but thing how terrible video calling was. Nobody here used it. Now, I can video call a friend at a party over the iPhone using FaceTime and chat to all my dumb little buddies while I am disabled and shit in a bed while I post on Facebook how awesome I am from my iPad 3G.
Who even uses video calling.
Who even uses video calling.
In Europe lots of people do. Unless you were trying to say that you know a guy named Who and he uses video calling
