Honestly I doubt the WBC are actually a bunch of religious nutjobs. First of all when I look at their PR it consists mostly of satire videos taking the piss out of populair media. Look at their Micheal Jackson covers and other videos, or their news-broadcast. Their only goal seems to be extremely direct throw as much controversy as possible; for example most of their signs only have like 4 words on them. The intro tune of their news broadcast only includes the line ''God hates the world and god hates fags''. Then their scary-ass leader goes on to condemn the Newtown victims and says he's glad god killed them. He says this within 30 seconds withoud any reasoning. Furthermore in their interviews I don't get the idea they got an sufficient amount of bible knowledge for what they're doing. They don't seem to be able to cite the bible on the fly, they don't seem to be able to give any real religious reasoning for their hate at all. They need to be as direct and vulgar as possible, because that way they're able to gain the maximum amount of hate possible, because no sane person is able to agree with their views. Maximum hate is maximum publicity, and in their case, maximum profits.

Remember almost all WBC members are lawyers, or get educated to be a lawyer. Whenever someone attacks them or infringes on any ( Copy )right of them they're known to sue for as much money as possible. They're not a religious sect they just seem to produce hate to create a living for themselves.
