Most of the harassment that's left is from anti gamergate people. The term could easily apply to tens of millions of people; We shouldn't let a group of assholes ruin that. In both Borderlands 1 and 2 they are readily mentioned in the games context but Burch said they weren't canon in the second game. This doesn't explicitly mean they weren't canon in BL1 but its implied. The General Knoxx ending is the lone exception to the rule but bear in mind that the DLC isn't necessarily developed by the same team that made the original game. Again, it's a well written story modification and the person who posted it is very articulate. I don't actually have any criticisms against it. But it doesn't change the fact that New-U stations actually aren't canon, which sadly torpedoes the entire idea.
