Honestly, IMO Jack would've been better and more convincing if he was just up-front about the fact he's a rich dick who kills anyone he pleases.

It's really, really lazy, Burch can't seem to write the truly complex characters that he thinks he can.
I don't know who this guy is, but he's literally crying for attention.
Someone who's studied the history of art correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure art can be objectively good or bad. Art itself is mainly evaluated subjectively, but has objective aspects to it. Like art, games can be judged objectively and subjectively. Claiming that game as art is entirely subjective can't be possible if art itself contains objective aspects to it. It isn't a unique experience to individuals that is entirely subjective like food. It's also contradictory to claim video games as art is entirely relative. You insinuate that making a dogmatic claim about what is art and isn't in insanely pompous, but isn't claiming that art is entirely relative as an absolute truth the same train of thinking? You're telling people how they should see what is art, which isn't any better from people saying video games are art.
as a art major, no, there is no objective scale unless you went to the school of objective art or something.

Art in general can't be judged objectively, because even something that's bad by the criteria of its particular medium (like, say, The Room) can still be good as art because The Room is a fascinating... thing, with a story behind it, but some people might not agree. It's not good as a movie but it can be good as general art when you take a step back. But yeah, there are objective scales for good and bad writing (but only if you categorize the writing in question very specifically), you just need to know what you're talking about when you criticise it.
The story in BL2 feels too forced to be honest and like someone is trying to convince a toddler to believe something. I mean if you have played BL2 you can agree on that the fact they spend almost half of the game trying to make you scared and afraid of Wilhelm is just plain awfully made.

The only objectivity in art is the artists skill. also "Are video games art"
-snipping shit because I don't want to drag this on any further-
For the love of fucking christ, don't feed him any further. He's already dragged a 2-page thread into a 7-page one just because he doesn't know when to quit. And for the record, if you don't agree with someone then the best course of action is for you to just rate them and ignore their posts instead of dragging out a dead argument and inciting even more bollocks. And for another record (available on Capital Records) both sides are filled to the brim with complete arseholes and as someone who sides with neither I think you all look like complete and total tools for thinking that arguing on the internet makes you some kind of great crusader in a social crisis, saving your side from the vicious assaults of the other. Your sides are both pathetic wankers for resorting to the kinds of petty and base-line arguments and techniques of the other to further your points, and you're a tool for just falling in line and waving a flag instead of formulating your own opinion. Well done, you look like an eejit.

You're seriously suggesting that the better alternative to having a discussion with someone is rating them dumb and not replying?

If you don't like it don't reply, you aren't really any better saying all of this.

Wait, was BL2 actually supposed to be funny? I've been playing it with my friends and just assumed that it was trying to be ironically unfunny.
