Shooters play Doom =/= Doom caused them to shoot up school If I'm a big Minecraft fan and I stab a guy it doesn't mean Minecraft made me want to stab him Your logic is stupid and wrong
It was just a stupid joke that didn't catch up because it was about columbine. Seriously there's nothing funny about Columbine, except the reaction of people (mainly "guns are so easy to find two nutcases manage to find some and slaughter people in a school ? I WANT MORE GUNS TO PROTECT MYSELF") after the incident.

That was satire for fuck's sake.
Did Facepunch suddenly become this dense over night? That was satire for fuck's sake.
It wasn't funny satire, so I had to assume you were being serious.
Of course it isn't funny, I was expressing my anger at those who seriously believe that videogames caused two psychopathic kids to go out and take innocent lives.
Well then express it in a another way than slapping a doom hud in front of a columbine picture.
Hell, it's about time someone finally pointed this out. It was too obvious from the start.
I already knew this was true, and I know too many people wont listen to this study but at least I have some more ammo now
Showed this to my parents; they still think video games make people violent. They were just like, "hurr durr all those killers played video games and there have been many studies saying video games are bad for you hurr durr durr." Damnit. :suicide:
I'm perfectly normal why do people keep telling me video games make me violent it's not true It's not true IT'S NOT TRUE BLOOD KNIFE SPURT GUTS AND BLOOD GUTS AND BLOOD GUTS ANDdddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
Next week on fox news : How video games can turn your beloved son into a mindless killer rape machine
Th e sr nothi g wrong with killer s!

I'm so glad I don't live in America. Just as many people hate videogames for the same reasons as in the US, but without their accents making everything they say sound more annoying. It's like a multiplier, or something.
I already knew this was true, and I know too many people wont listen to this study but at least I have some more ammo now
YOU'RE GOING TO KILL THE WHOLE SCHOOL!!!!!
High school freshman Tia Strickland, 14, of Washington, D.C., is new to gaming and just started playing Angry Birds. "I'm really addicted to it," she says. "If I lose, I say I have to keep on playing. Once I win, I feel so satisfied."
Oh, how times have changed.
HOLY SHIT HE'S GONNA BUILD A GIANT SLINGSHOT AND THROW BARRELS AT BUILDINGS !
YOU'RE GOING TO KILL THE WHOLE SCHOOL!!!!!
Metaphorical ammo! OH GOD ITS HAPPENING AGAIN!
its not anyones problem its just that violent video games nowadays are marketed towards 12 year olds
Uh, no It's just stupid parents buying their spoiled kids 18+ games. But that's their own (un)doing if it so turns them into psychotic killers.
about fucking time they goddamn realised it jesus christ [editline]17th September 2011[/editline] OMG HE PLAYS SPIRAL KNIGHTS HE IS GOING TO CHOP UP HIS WHOLE SCHOOL WITH A SELFMADE BLADE WHILE WEARING A WOLF'S COAT OH MY GAWD BAWBAW See how ridiculous this sounds? Exactly my point.
Some are stupid enough to go killing people after getting mad on some violent video game. But yeah the player is at fault obviously. And even if the game influenced the killer, the killer would get trailed and convicted and not the game developer.
Uh, no It's just stupid parents buying their spoiled kids 18+ games. But that's their own (un)doing if it so turns them into psychotic killers.
I've been playing games up to 18+ even when I was only 12, I didn't turn in any sort of psychotic killer. If a kid starts wanting to act like in his video games, it's his parents' goal to tell him it's not real and that he shouldn't do that unless he wants to get killed or jailed.
Games = Stress Relievers Games =/= Stress Inducers. I also still do not understand how parents can bitch and moan about what games "do to kids" when they go out and buy these "super violent gory kill simulators&trainers" for their little billy. If parents know how to, I don't know, parent, then they shouldn't be blaming games. Another thing they should be doing, is playing games with their children so they can see what a game is about, and its about story and FUN.
Games = Stress Relievers Games =/= Stress Inducers.
Brink would like a word with you. Nah, I agree.
Brink would like a word with you. Nah, I agree.
Well, if we include crappy gameplay mechanics and trolls, then yes a game can be a stress inducer.
Same old story as ever. If a guy goes and shoots a person and then happens to have COD at home (andeseeing at their sales figures, He's 60 % likely to have it i suppose) then it's probably more likely that he's the problem I have yet to see a crazed GTA inspired murderous mob demolish various unnamed american cities
well you have to have problems to actualy want to play CoD :P
This is obvious as shit. There are maybe two deaths every 2-3 years that are directly because of video games and the person doing the killing was unstable to begin with. (like when a kid a few years ago killed his parents when they took away his Halo game) I mean seriously, more people die directly from cars and religion each year but I don't see those being blamed.
Jesus!!! He shot his parents because they took halo?? Looks like i'm not playing halo again that creeps me out :/

I've been playing lots of violent games since I was 3, like most of us here I can imagine.
well you have to have problems to actualy want to play CoD :P
lol cod hate bandwagon u so funi xDDDDDD lolool It's actually fun to play some of those games if you don't include the sheer amount of cheaters, reused graphics and stuff, and most of the horribly unbalanced multiplayer weapons.

I bought a ship simulator game for the sole reason of me crashing them into rocks/icebergs/bridges/other ship so that I can watch them sink. Does that make me a mass-murdering psychopath? :v:
