:downsbravo:
couldn't resist
I thought Everything or Nothing for the PS2 was a good game
That strayed pretty far from what the movie was about.
And the PC version sucked.
There are plenty of good movie based games.
Doom for example
...
...oh wait...
I can only think of 2 movie games that will be missed.
There are quite a few good movie games though
They're not dead, developers like EA just rush them and make them shit. I mean, i never played the Avatar game, but i bet it was absolute bollocks where it could have been like a Crysis/Turok love child... Most film games could be really original, enjoyable and immersive if they were produced by developers that valued their audience over their money.
Well glad they got the fucking message. That last bond game was a pile of shit. Was basically just a shit version of splinter cell conviction.
Hopefully they'll start realising that also carrying on franchises and beating that dead horse is no way to go either so instead of sequels up the ass we'll see some new interesting game innovation (Yeah not holding my breath either)
Hey EA, you guys are becoming cool. Now if you could fixed the ruined Command and Conquer series, you will earn the gaming community respect back
The Godfather game.
That was good :saddowns:
are you kidding me it was the worst ever
it couldn't even compete with mafia 1 that was released like 4 years earlier
also it seems like EA is finally getting their shit togheter, not just by doing this.
the way they let DICE create their own game instead of getting themselves too involved in the process was great
Who's going to make the Deathly Hallows games then?
That's a book game, durr
I hope Activision follows the same path EA is taking...They can't really get much lower, can they?

I don't see why people are all happy about this, EA released some good movie-based games. Harry Potter anyone?
[editline]1st December 2010[/editline]
It's not like it's a very bad thing but it's not like a revolution or anything, I doubt anything is gonna change.
[editline]1st December 2010[/editline]
Except that they won't make movie-based games ofcourse..
Hey EA, you guys are becoming cool. Now if you could fixed the ruined Command and Conquer series, you will earn the gaming community respect back
This, starting with the release of the sequel to Firestorm.
I thought Everything or Nothing for the PS2 was a good game
Yeah, but that wasn't movie based. As mentioned in the review, they don't like the creative limits either. I assume he was also partly referring to the new Craig-Bond franchise where there are no longer any real Q-tools present.
Hitman was actually decent.
You must be joking.
Though I agree with you on the BFME games.
EA finally did something good.
EA finally did something good.
How is this good?
How is this good?
Less shit games?
How is this good?
How is it bad?
Less shit games?
All movie-based games aren't shitty.
[editline]1st December 2010[/editline]
How is it bad?
It doesn't have to be bad really, except I actually like movie-based games.
movie games are okay when done correctly, but they have to expand on the universe present in the movies. Spiderman 2 is a great example of this. All the content from the movie was there (voice actors, story), but elements were added to have it make more sense as a game, and be more fun (adding story elements that weren't in the movie).

did anyone else love the godfather game for ps2
the one where you could rough up shopkeepers for protection money and stuff
Spiderman 2 and Toy Story 2 are the only movie games I enjoyed that I can think of off the top of my head

Except for Aunt May's voice actor, oh god that was horrendous. Aside from that, you're right.
Scarface, the godfather, LOTR and the original 3 harry potter games, jurassic park:genesis, goldeneye, nightfire. Not all movie based games are crappy, over the past years a lot of good ones have been made. ( But most are indeed shit )
