While no evidence was found that supports the idea that she is even part-Native American, there is nothing to suggest she went out of her way to curry any sort of benefits from it. Trump then used the absence of evidence to call her goofy. It's dumb identity politics bullshit, basically. The problem is dumb identity politics bullshit is effective and for a lot of people, sadly, the first time they ever heard of Warren on a national scale was when Trump was talking shit.
