i could imagine this thing being extremely noisy under load. i need to use one for a few days soon
plug in keyboard+mouse and it's exactly the same [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline] my dream lan setup would be like, a highest-end retina MBP w/ a tenkeyless filco mechanical and a Zowie FK. ATX towers are hassle for setting up there and back at home when you get back [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline] with an intel GPU, possibly. but with an 870m it's gonna tear through the battery in like, half an hour max
If I were to get a sick laptop like that I'd totally get myself the biggest 3rd party battery I could then again that's the first thing i do with any portable/mobile devices i get
Except laptops have to reduce how powerful their parts are in order to gain the advantage of mobility you can't always just swap parts out and just upgrade your primary monitor is a small laptop screen assuming you don't use another
i have played on a 13-15" monitor my whole life, and i don't like anything bigger for gaming. plus, with most high end laptops with good screens -- it'll wipe the floor with any other monitor most people are going to have

It's small and less powerful but still can do a shitload of work with no struggle.
If I were to get a sick laptop like that I'd totally get myself the biggest 3rd party battery I could then again that's the first thing i do with any portable/mobile devices i get
well it wouldn't really matter anywho considering the laptop would switch to integrated GPU while not playing games -- it'd save a lot of battery. the only time i could imagine someone playing really intensive games for extended periods of time is when they also have an outlet handy [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline]
or just get the same screen... for a desktop?
and have to carry it seperately? while also being much much bigger and bulkier? might i add that a lot of laptops go right up to 17+". that's plenty for a lan party [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline] also no, you can't really unless you spend ludicrous amounts.
I totally forgot that the mobo would have an integrated GPU for non-gaming
What's a good portable gayming laptop that could run shit like CSS and CSGO and maybe things like dayz
A useless addition. Touch pads are terrible.
The only good touch pads are on Macs, I've never used a non-apple track pad that I've liked.
What's a good portable gayming laptop that could run shit like CSS and CSGO and maybe things like dayz
depends what your budget is
depends what your budget is
1000-1500 freedom dollars
The only good touch pads are on Macs, I've never used a non-apple track pad that I've liked.
The Lenovo Y500's trackpad is pretty good. It's not as great as a MacBook Pro's trackpad, but it's pretty great for a Windows laptop. Also my Asus T100's trackpad is pretty good considering it's a teeny tiny little netbook trackpad.
1000-1500 freedom dollars
check out the MSI GX70 3Be-007US or an ibuypower/sager/clevo laptop. go over a few and decide which is best for you; but keep in mind at that price range, all of those laptops are gonna be kinda chunky.
1000-1500 freedom dollars
I will sell you my old gaming laptop for $1,300? (: it runs very well with games like CSS, gmod, and most steam games that aren't praised for their insane graphics. Even high end games can be played well with a lower setting. I will post the name of the laptop when I get home if you are curios. It goes for 1,400 used and 1,600 new. I can put it on amazon and sell there if it happens
Why buy a laptop this expensive when it will go out of date and there's nothing you can do about it
Theres some laptops that can have their CPU, even the GPU upgraded, but the GPUs for them are retardedly expensive. [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline]
Why do people buy gaming laptops? Who actually needs to go somewhere to play video games? For $2,500 I can purchase a desktop setup at least twice as powerful.
I bought one because I needed a laptop for school, I also wanted to be able to play games on it, far cheaper to get a decent laptop that can run games easily and I can bring to class for school work then it would be to get a desktop and a laptop
well it wouldn't really matter anywho considering the laptop would switch to integrated GPU while not playing games -- it'd save a lot of battery. the only time i could imagine someone playing really intensive games for extended periods of time is when they also have an outlet handy [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline] and have to carry it seperately? while also being much much bigger and bulkier? might i add that a lot of laptops go right up to 17+". that's plenty for a lan party
Why would you carry a desktop or monitor around? I'm talking for desktop sake, stationary, it's not the same thing at all, they both have their benefits
i go to a lot of LAN setups at friends houses. i used to move my desktop setup a lot and it was painful [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline] i essentially stopped using my desktop as a desktop when i got a good laptop. now it just sits as a server
Not everyone has the ability to get a desktop to a LAN anyway, try taking a Desktop (even Mini ITX), monitor, keyboard, and mouse on the back of a push bike. It's not going to happen.
Are you still using a CRT? And a keyboard/mouse don't take up much room at all.
Most modern gaming laptops have some fucking divine screens.
Yup. The first gaming laptop I saw in the wild had an amazing 120hz screen
Are you still using a CRT? And a keyboard/mouse don't take up much room at all.
No, but I still don't see how it's possible to carry even a small mini itx machine and and 21.5 inch LCD on one of these things: [t]http://www.lawcycles.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Escape-4.jpg[/t]
I had a black and white LCD Toshiba from like the early 90s that didn't have a touch pad, it had the little rubber(?) nub that you push on to move the cursor. I wish laptops still had those. And I miss that computer, one day it just didn't turn on and no amount of anything would get it to boot ever again.
Mine boots, I just forgot where the power button is [t]http://www.anonmgur.com/up/e03c615091faaf5750d5b1a0fdb0dae2.jpg[/t]

I really just want a thin nice mild gaming laptop
Why do people buy gaming laptops? Who actually needs to go somewhere to play video games? For $2,500 I can purchase a desktop setup at least twice as powerful.
Because I didn't want to take my Full Tower desktop 1500 miles to College with me. For my $1900 I got a pretty kickass Sager that I can still play all of my games on without having to carry a 60 pound desktop. [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline]
I bought this sager laptop a year and a half ago with a 670m in it for $1200. It can run anything so far. Good buy. [editline]22nd March 2014[/editline] Gaming laptops aren't all bad.
I picked the 675MX, super solid so far, runs BF4 on all high fine for me.
Of course, and that's where laptops basically just dominate desktops but I mean if it was as stationary as a desktop ( a laptop) and you never took your laptop anywhere then it would be pretty redundant.
of course? why would you buy a laptop in that case unless you wanted some really specific things like a fingerprint scanner and a small all-in-one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152444 I don't know if this one would be good or not, it has a very small form factor and decent specs. Plus it's within an affordable range.
No, but I still don't see how it's possible to carry even a small mini itx machine and and 21.5 inch LCD on one of these things: [t]http://www.lawcycles.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Escape-4.jpg[/t]
With proper padding, you could put it all in a back-pack.

They call it the "Trackpoint".
Only US$2,199.99 .... ...
Only US$2,199.99 .... ...
gr8 b8 m8 There is obviously a market for it, I don't see why people are fucking burning each other at the stake for their preference or need for a laptop
