Pepsi Says Mountain Dew Can Dissolve Mouse Carcasses
Coke, Pepsi, etc. It all tastes like the same trash to me.
Coke and Pepsi are like penis and vagina: I strongly prefer one over the other but some people say they both taste the same.
The chance of a mouse ending up in a can of soda is basically zero. I know they can fit through some small spaces, but there's just no way it's fitting through that tiny drinking hole on a pop can. Nor would it even want to, they're empty, then they're filled, then they're tabbed and sealed all in one step.
Fun fact: The top-most section of a soda can is glued on. A mouse could most definitely get into a soda can like that before the top is glued on.
That and mice are sheisty bastards, they can fit damn-near anywhere so long as their head can get inside.
They can EASILY fit through that actually. But like you said, the chances of a mouse actually getting into one is slim to none.
Lol you know what I really don't know. I know they can fit through some small shit, but that's got to be pushing it. And I don't know why it would want to sit in a tiny ass pop can with nothing in it.

Trust me, the top on a soda can is pretty large for a mouse. They can fit through some tiny spaces. But the cans are open ended and then filled and then the top pressed on top. Like the user above you said.
Also, the cans are run by all kinds of sensors on the line. If a mouse was in one and then the can was filled with the predetermined amount of soda, the can would overflow by a lot and be rejected off the line. The weight would be wrong on the can as well.

Yeah that's true, making it even less probable that this could happen. It sounds to me like this guy was just bullshitting for money, although why the company went with this "defense" is beyond me.
Stopped drinking soda regularly years ago, helps with keeping weight lower and your teeth won't fall out.

The lawyers know they have this guy beat. So coming up with the funniest defense is more of a game. They know they will win regardless. They probably came to the table and said, look, our quality control standards are this, we check for everything, we keep everything in closed facilities and even if it did get in the equipment the sensors would reject the can and plus the soda would dissolve the mouse.
They probably covered everything and this little bit that got slid in at the end of the defense was picked up on by a reporter and used as a headline. It wouldn't be too exciting if they said, "Pepsi says, Mountain Dew cans are subject to quality control."

Because you can try and make the argument that maybe some of the sensors weren't working properly, or that the company was negligent and didn't put up adequate quality control. That would make the trial absolutely convoluted and cost the company a whole lot more money.
However, if you say there is absolutely no way a mouse would be in a solid form by the time the man opened the soda, the case is crushed completely.
I thought it said moose, not mouse. I'm a lot less impressed/scared.
sulfuric acid:

yeah probably not
they mix the ground-up end result with bubbly water and thats how pepsi is made
I have a feeling that people who find soda delicious have dead tastebuds. I haven't had any soda in a few years or so other than a sip every now and then. It tastes like a cup of sugar dissolved in water.
What you just described is soda that has gone flat
I'm probably never going to join these people who stop drinking it totally since I've cut back and only do in slight moderation. Nothing that can do any actual harm.
Oh well, looks like I'll die doing the dew since it's way to sweet to just quit.

The only way it won't do harm is if you brush your teeth after drinking it each time
The only way it won't do harm is if you brush your teeth after drinking it each time
It won't do noticeable harm then
meh
No longer drinking soda was probably the easiest decision I made. Most of the time you're not paying attention to the taste of what you're drinking like you do with food, there used to just always be some soda next to me because I liked drinking things
I didn't really notice the switch to water
The only horrible obvious affect of soda consumption is getting fat. Most people who drink it don't drink enough to be morbidly obese. The horrific affects we see in news articles would probably happened if you bathed in it for 24 hours or held it in your mouth for that long.
I stopped drinking it to stop being fat cause I had a problem.
The first step is admitting you have a problem.
Soda is basically sugar water with food dye and carbon dioxide and acid in it.
drinking a few cans of soda a week is no different from having a few cigarettes
funny how when FP thinks smoking is "disgusting" and "stupid", while when it comes to red meat and soda it's all -"it tastes good, I don't give a fuck"
And that's why I only drink flat cream soda and antifreeze these days. Practically gave me chemical burns when I'd drink too much Coke.
I've drank antifreeze.
I then had liver failure.
Doctors tell me I should be dead, but somehow I battled through it.
I don't drink soda either. Not because it's unhealthy or tastes bad but simply because I can't afford to waste money on it.
Also wow, didn't know so many people here were addicted to sodas.
There's a dead mole outside that my cats killed, and I have Mt. Dew. I'm going to test Pepsi's theory, using the power of science.
Also, piece of advice, don't piss in an open car battery because the acid goes fucking insane and bubbles all over.

Every day you learn something new.
Tastes like acid too imo.
nah, acid is tasteless unless you're getting a placebo or something else
wait, you meant the other kind of acid
shit
But its true, most soda is like drinking battery acid. I don't understand why anyone drinks that crap anyways.
The inside of your stomach is even more acidic so what?
And milk is a strong Base, again this wont do shit to your stomach

Lol, sulfuric acid + water = holyshitexothermicstuff
just as well i don't drink any fizzy drinks. I can't actually taste anything when i drink it but a burning sensation in my mouth and throat. Shit burns me more than vodka does for some reason
Sometimes i drop candy in my coke and let it dissolve for extra taste.
drinking a few cans of soda a week is no different from having a few cigarettes
yes it is
cigarettes are far more rewarding
trust me
i've quit for many years and i still want a smoke
