You keep saying millions of people but I have seen no real evidence behind it. Do you actually have any proof or are you just saying that? I mean I am not defending him, I am genuinely curious about this.
There are various reports from people who lived in North Korea. Such as this.
...
The flag thing isn't working on my end, but I'd bet it should be this one: [thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/51/Flag_of_North_Korea.svg[/thumb]
...
I'm sorry, are you going to dispute my point or play semantics? And also bullshit. The ship sunk near the NK-designated border and quite far from the UN-designated border, well within SK naval territory as agreed upon by both NK and SK during the armistice.
Kim Jong-il leveled up! What!? Kim Jong-il is evolving! DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DOO DOO DOO DEE DEE DOO DOO DEE DEE Congratulations! Your Kim Jong-il evolved in to a Kim Jong-dead!
DISREGARD IMPERIALIST CAPITALIST SWINE PROPAGANDA DEAR LEADER IS NOT DEAD HE IS MERELY RESTING AFTER A LONG DAY OF SERVING THE WORKERS OF KOREA. HE WILL RISE WHEN HE SO DESIRES DO NOT BE SWALLOWED BY TYPICAL DECADENT PERVERTED WESTERN PIGDOG LIES COLONIALIST FISHSWINE SUBHUMAN CAPITALISTIC DOGS SPREAD LIES LIKE FILTH LEADER IS PARTAKING IN LEISURE AFTER A DAY IN THE GLORIOUS WHEAT-FILLED FIELDS HE SHALL RISE AT DAWN FULLY ENERGIZED!!
Needs more

Well that explains why they randomly shut down their nuclear enrichment program and have seemingly stopped waving their willies at their neighbors. Here's hoping his successor does what's in the best interest of the people.
Giving in to the evil U.S Empire?! NEVER! Best Korea will remain Best Korea!
Kim Jong-un is probably going to be leagues worse.
[editline]18th December 2011[/editline] In all seriousness, Kim-Jong Il was funny because he was old and eccentric, but his son is young and probably not as crazy. Best Korea might be in for some more hard times.
Isn't his son just as insane? North Korea is forever doomed
Near Sure it was. *wink*
Here's the naval borders. The red is NK's claim, the blue is SK and the UN's claim. The 2 is the island in the next image. As you can see, the red dot, being where the ship sank, is not near the red line, being UN-accepted naval borders. The dot is 2km off the coast of the island. You can clearly see that the ship was nowhere close enough to the NK border or the UN border to be attacked legitimately.
...
The fact you actually believe that this country "isn't as bad as it is" is pretty damn sad. You seem to be a broken individual. it's also pretty damn sad, someone like your self who is obviously not posting from NK, actually believes this. Your mentality is the one i would expect from someone who has lived in NK their whole life. Congrats on winning my pity.
Sacha Baron Cohen chose a good time to be working on a comedy about a dictator
not enough virgin blood
as a korean who lived in south korea most of his life before coming to hawaii suff, you are the most ignorant foreigner i ever met when it came to korean politics. #1.
you are jelly because best korea
Woah, this is pretty massive news. Hopefully his son will bring about some change.
Why are people rating this friendly? He was a horrible person.
Because everybody likes to be sarcastic making him out to be a god just as his brainwashed people are. Really, making a mockery of the fact that he brainwashed his people and made so many people suffer isn't something you should joke about. I wonder what somebody who suffered through his tyranny would feel about the general population of Facepunch joking like he was the greatest person.

He was only 69? Bit young, isn't it?
I think its incredibly offensive to anybody who had to serve in the Korean war and has suffered. Even though you don't know any of those people personally it doesn't mean its right to joke about their situation. Its like joking about people having autism. Its horrible and distasteful.
how did he die of fatigue on a train

Hopefully he died doing what he loved. Looking at something.
By the end of the decade we'll be out of bizarre, eccentric dictator to make fun of.

Congrats on winning my pity.
You act as if I believe in North Korea's media-outlets, when I have only expressed support for Kim's early advancement of agriculture and the Workforce. How dare I express support, it's not what a good Citizen would do. I apologize, I have stepped out of line. Just a kick, maybe a shove or two and some duck-tape and you could easily put me back in my place.
as a korean who lived in south korea most of his life before coming to hawaii suff, you are the most ignorant foreigner i ever met when it came to korean politics. #1.
I admit, I'm really not familiar with "Korean Politics", but I really wouldn't consider myself "Ignorant". Infact; I have mentioned nothing of "Korean Politics", but merely that I do not believe North Korea is as bad as it is made out to be by EU/U.S, and that I admired some of Kim's early moves when he was working to advance the Workforce. South Korea shares the same media outlets as EU/U.S, that being that they share the same news, events, talking-points, left-right rubbish and other assorted garbage.
...
Can you not? We have enough idiots in this country already. (User was banned for this post ("Uncalled for" - Craptasket))
How can you not be "familiar with Korean politics" but be able to formulate such a vast and taboo opinion on it, and say you "admire" it. You're a fucking dumb ass kid. (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Craptasket))
