Best DRM I've seen so far is Steam, unlike most DRM methods, I'd rather have it on most of my games.
I wonder what their next idea for DRM will be?

EA rep must stand behind you at all times while playing to ensure don't do anything naughty.
Hooray!
Haha, ubisoft got their face kicked hard.

You get a small .exe which, when opened, opens a window that leads to a server on which the entire game is located. And that's how you're going to play.
What is that one service out now that does that? Your commands are sent to their server, where the game is played, and video is sent back.
I can't remember it's name. But yeah, that's probably what they'll resort to next...
OnLive. But it's shit if you have poor internet
DRM only slows down pirates, there is no such thing as a crack-proof system.
Game developers should learn that already, the only thing that the DRM is doing is increasing the number of people who will pirate the game when it's cracked.
The more they try to keep it 'secure', the more people will try to crack it.
There's a reason people (mostly) don't download cracked source games.

I can safely say somewhere there is a cracked HL2, but I can't say the same for the rest.

You will have to stream your game and all the parts that you have finished will be deleted off your computer.
Wow... Bandwith intensive.

Considering some games are cracked before they even hit the shelves I'd hardly say it slows them much.
It just doesn't work because all you need is a few bright people who know how to get around the DRM, and once they figure it out they can share the results with everyone else.
protip: it's really not

They must spend a fair amount of their budget trying to create obscene DRM. I think they'd be better off just spending that money on making the game better and drop $10 from the price tag. That way it'll be a great game and have an affordable price, which would probably boost sales by like 15%, resulting in a greater net profit than if they went with DRM.

And I'm also quite sure that there'd be huge community support for any company that offered to drop DRM from their future titles.
I knew it would be Skid-Row.
The only thing this kind of DRM is doing is hurting legitimate users.

Skidrow is badass
I expected it. But not this soon.
By the time they have a DRM that can fully stop pirates, the games will be unplayable and no one will buy them.
Any solution to stop something can be broken, always.

I've seen cracked Counter Strike Source (though i got my CSS off steam for 5$ :) weekend special FTW)
damn you broke my automerge
There's a reason people (mostly) don't crack source games.
They do, pirates often don't have any "moral" unlike you like to think.
"I only pirate for DRM and to test the game!" :rolleye:
I know for sure that the following sourcegames are cracked and out there:
Team Fortress 2, HL2, Counter Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2
It's like what I usually say about DRM's.
It's like a locked door and locked doors can allways be opened.

There is a warez version of every valve game to-date, what r u talking about?
Instead of DRM there should be a video, like Floppy That Copy.
Goddamnit if I start seeing "You Wouldn't Steal A SOMETHING" videos before launching games I will be pissed, those better not happen
the only problem at the moment is the seed/peer ratios are so unbalanced, unsurprisingly
Anyone that's bought this game for the PC should be lined up against a wall and shot.
I can't remember a game where I didn't use a crack.
Yay for DRM.
Installing Silent hunter 5 now :D
