Isn't someone going to investigate this shit stain for conflict of interest or is that not allowed because money... ?
patience, these things take time
patience, these things take time
It's kinda understandable that people get impatient though. They do take time but the person in question is still dealing damage to important things while we wait.
Isn't someone going to investigate this shit stain for conflict of interest or is that not allowed because money... ?
Unlikely, sadly. Obama's FCC chair was a former Verizon employee at the time.

He also turned out to have been far more forward-thinking and protective of the peoples' rights than anyone wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt for, given his background. Pai has made his distinct lack of interest in your rights nakedly clear. With memeclown zingers on what should be a serious occasion.
So there are people online saying that Hillary Clinton would had repealed NN, and that it is Obama's fault, not Trump fault that NN got repealed. Thoughts?
So there are people online saying that Hillary Clinton would had repealed NN, and that it is Obama's fault, not Trump fault that NN got repealed. Thoughts?
I doubt Hillary would have NN repealed. Obama did nominate A Shit Pie for FCC chairman, but I don't know who approved him (I'm guessing Trump, but someone will have to correct me). I guess you could argue that Trump did not get NN repealed, but considering he supported it, may as well put the blame on him AND A Shit Pie.
Hilary never would have repealed net neutrality and Ajit Pai wouldn't be FCC head commissioner right now if she won.
Hilary never would have repealed net neutrality and Ajit Pai wouldn't be FCC head commissioner right now if she won.
But her emails
So... Like... The FCC straight up committed Fraud, right? Like the whole "posts from dead people" thing in support of axing NN, that's like... illegal, right? Shouldn't everybody involved with this fucking farce be in jail? The evidence isn't even well hidden. A kid could find hard evidence of the whole "they faked that shit" thing, right???
They haven't been able to prove it was the FCC and not some random Russian bot network
No matter who did it (but let's not mess about here - it was the fucking FFC) the mere fact that such a wide-scale hijack of personal information even occured should have rendered the initial vote for the repeal invalid. The FCC should have been barred from moving forwards based on false statistics and the entire wasps nest should have been placed under investigation due to the huge security breach! I mean, let's look at our possibilities, here. None of them end well for the FCC: 1: The most likely explanation is that the FCC collaborated with the many ISPs pushing to repeal net neutrality, securing the personal information of tens of thousands of people without their knowlege. Then used that information to create fake "support" messeges for their end goal and used the false information to support their vote. In which case the FCC and all the companies they connived with are guilty of multiple very serious crimes, including identity theft, forgery and impersonation just to name a few. 2: The fake comments were made by a third-party hacker group/bot network using stolen information. These comments oh-so-conveniently claimed to be in support of ending net neutrality. The FCC then moved forwards with this information - without bothering to background check the huge number of strangely technically-written posts from thousands of vastly different people, many of which were literally identical - and used it to suport their vote. In which case a large number of ISP companies are now liable to get slammed for allowing such a massive breach of security without notifying their customers, and the FCC will look like a bunch of incompetent morons for not being able to spot obviously false information. No matter what way you spin this, the facts rememain the same. Thousand of people had their information appropriated and used to support an otherwise massively unpopular agenda. Whether it was an inside job or not doesn't change the fact that this repeal went through on a wave of literal lies. I have no doubt there are a lot of lawyers across the states right now rubbing their hands together in preperation for the legal shitstorm that is about to befall the FCC and anybody who was stupid enough to buddy up with them on this.
The FCC refuses to cooperate with the investigation into the fraudulent comments. What could they possibly want to hide?
They used my mom and my old address as well to fake-support the repeal. It was made just this June despite moving over a year ago. This is bullshit.
Somebody on Reddit found that even Obama himself was a victim of having his information falsely used to encourage the repeal of Obama-era regulations: https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filing/1051157755251
https://web.archive.org/web/20171217225641/https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filing/1051157755251
https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/7kgyee/barack_obama_posted_a_comment_to_the_fcc_urging/ [t]https://i.imgur.com/ZaHhmAq.png[/t]

...and another comment from "Obama" was made later in July: https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filing/10713873805694 Also: An archive of the instance from the previous post I made of "Obama" posting in May:
https://web.archive.org/web/20171217225641/https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filing/1051157755251
im so sick of seeing criminals and charlatans go unpunished for making my country look like a farce

They didn't even try to hide it.
"He's " referring to himself in third person ffs :v:. They didn't even try to hide it.
I think it was less about "hiding it" and more about them being so lazy in using other people's data with a flagrant disregard for privacy/legality/etc that they didn't consider the possibility of Obama's information being used itself.
That's what really gets me about this whole thing: It's not just that they so blatantly stole people's personal details and used them for the equivalent of a bunch of WoW Gold Seller bots, it's that they didn't even bother to try and make it look convincing. Like, did they honestly think people would be so complacent and so nonchalant about them killing fucking net neutrality that nobody would notice the fact we were getting "pro-repeal" posts from literally dead people!? As for "proof it was the FCC." Well, I'll ask you this: If this was the work of third-party hackers or some kind of bot network: How, exactly, did they manage to gain access to such a huge group of people? Companies tend to be pretty vocal when wide-scale security breaches happen, but we haven't heard anything about that from anyone. And on that note, why would they use that information exclusively to make strangely technical posts supporting the end of net neutrality? What benefit does this earn them? Correct me if I'm wrong, here, but if I was a hacker - even a mercenary, low-morality blackhat who stole people's personal info for a profit - I don't really think I'd be in favour of killing net neutrality, no matter how low my morals might be. You'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to take up a job that would contribute to killing the platform you use as a primary source of income. All the evidence points to the FCC working alongside scummy ISPs, getting the information (that those ISPs have easy access to) and using some of the laziest, most morally repugnant methods to further their own goals in the name of greed. This whole thing reeks of corruption.

Its like they just ran a fucking program to generate every possble name - up to and including anime characters. Talk about overkill! Can't wait for the plot twist about the person who programmed this being secretly against the repeal and pulling an "Exact Words" move, knowing full well that such an absurdly huge number of obviously fake or stolen accounts would be noticed immediately. "What's that, boss? You want me to make a bunch of fake comments to support your repeal vote using all these random accounts? As many as possible? Sure thing! Don't worry, boss, I'll make sure they're all nice and detailed, too! No half-assing it from me, boss, just you wait and see!" I mean, the alternative is that whoever is behind this was legitimately so stupid and short-sighted that they thought a bunch of duplicated pro-repeal posts from such noteworthy individuals as "Mr. Charizard" and "Tony Stark" would actually go unnoticed. Or, somehow, that people would actually believe that malarkey. If it's the latter, that just lends more weight to the FCC being behind it. It's exactly the kind of narrow minded, arrogant, idiotic move they've come to be known for throughout this shitshow.
Anyone who says you can live without the internet is a fucking liar. My parents can't even function a day without their Facebook. It's so ingrained into our lives that it should be a right, not a privilege. You can't even do your taxes anymore without it.
Facebook is even one of the more superficial applications. Imagine all those things like LinkedIn, online college courses and inscriptions, trying to find a job and sending applications, online banking and whatnot. Tons of these things have become essential instead of convenient, to much is build around the use of the internet.
