Looks like arma 3. ~The future is now~
yeah it's almost as if arma 3 is based off of real life events and military setups
Putin has far too much faith in his military. NATO has a much better conventional force than Russia does, just send some guided missile destroyers to the baltics and let rip on their armies. The ability to move quick isn't shit if you can't avoid missiles like the SCALP.
Here's a crappy CGI but it gives you an idea just how accurate our conventional means are.

Sounds like something North Korea would say.
do the Russians have anything or anyone stationed in kaliningrad? i'd imagine if they had some mechanised units there it'd take them no time to waltz into lithuania
Several air bases and a whole fleet with a naval base.

shitton of stuff
And nukes could be in Moscow within 3 hours.
For some years after the fall of the Soviet Union, Kaliningrad Oblast was one of the most militarized areas of the Russian Federation and the density of military installations was the highest in Europe, as much of the Soviet equipment pulled out of Eastern Europe was left there. As of 2009, there were 11,600 Russian ground troops based in the oblast, plus additional naval and air force personnel.[22] Thus military troops amount to less than 2% of the oblast's population. Kaliningrad is the headquarters of the Russian Baltic Fleet together with Chernyakhovsk (air base), Donskoye (air base) and Kaliningrad Chkalovsk (naval air base).
The Washington Times claimed on January 3, 2001, citing anonymous intelligence reports, that Russia had transferred tactical nuclear weapons into a military base in Kaliningrad for the first time since the end of the Cold War. Russian top-level military leaders denied those claims.[23] A Pentagon spokesperson said that such deployment would violate the Russian pledge to remove nuclear weapons from the Baltics. Russia and the United States announced in 1991 and 1992 a non-binding agreement to reduce arsenals of tactical nuclear weapons. On the eve of the reunification of Germany, Helmut Kohl promised Mikhail Gorbachev that NATO's military infrastructures would not move eastward into the territory of East Germany, a fact since confirmed by the former U.S. Ambassador to Moscow Jack Matlock.
On November 5, 2008, Russian President Dimitry Medvedev said that Russia would deploy Iskander missiles in the oblast as a response to U.S. plans for basing missile defense missiles in Poland.[24] Equipment to electronically hamper the operation of future U.S. missile facilities in Poland and the Czech Republic would also be deployed, he said.

"If I wanted, Russian troops could be not only in Kiev, but also Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Warsaw and Bucharest in two days," Russian President Putin allegedly told Poroshenko, according to the German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
Nice to see Russia is still a Democracy run by the People.
Go on and try it, Putin. Poland is NATO - we may have a pussy-ass President who doesn't want to start a war, but if you step to NATO he doesn't have a choice. Honestly if you press too much harder in Ukraine, you're liable to kick off WW3.
What if he's just being hilariously misunderstood?
I can just picture Russian troops dressed in their uniforms standing in-line at Domodedovo Moscow Airport, walking through the security checkpoints and checking their baggage!
My God! Russian troops in Warsaw, casually flipping through the tourist pamphlets at the taxi-stand! Russian troops in Paris, casually taking the elevator to the top of the Eiffel Tower! The horror!
v:v:v
Misunderstood Putin: Just wanted to reassure Europe that they are safe.
If no US forces were in Europe, yeah probably. Poland would be tough though, they actually have a military with some teeth.
Not to mention their entire civilian population which mostly fucking hates Russia with a passion.

No one love us ;_;
No one love us ;_;
I love you, just not your government and the nationalists that support it. <3
How would Russia roll over the Polish army in two days? Or Romania? I don't even think they could take out the Baltics that quickly.
Poland could put up a fight but Romania uses tanks from the 50s
And nukes could be in Moscow within 3 hours.
And Iraq could fire chemical weapons in 45 minutes. I take all claims of military prowess with a little bit of salt.
Not to mention their entire civilian population which mostly fucking hates Russia with a passion.
We don't hate russians as people, we hate their government as you said. My grandma who is russian never got any trouble because of her ethnicity.
Ahem, couldn't other nations do the same?
I mean, if U.S. wanted, it could deploy a lot of troops and very fast to different places.
Ahem, couldn't other nations do the same?
I mean, if U.S. wanted, it could deploy a lot of troops and very fast to different places.
Yes, we could. We aren't trying to intimidate anyone, however.
Yes, we could. We aren't trying to intimidate anyone, however.
It makes even less sense for Putin to be saying it, since the Russian army clearly had no part in the actions of the Donetsk Republic.
Right?
Don't do it Putin. Wouldn't want Poland to take Moscow again for good this time, right?
A column of Russian troops approach the immigration counter at the airport in Warsaw.
-- Occupation?
-- yes.
Come at me I'll fuck you up spetsnaz
And nukes could be in Moscow within 3 hours.
obligitory

but all kidding aside, the invasion of iraq pretty much proved that you can get anywhere in two days if you want to, our forces today are so highly mobilized we could probably drop a team of rangers in moscow's red square if we wanted to, but military command structures are such that they are built to respond to this rapid strike capability by being spread out, so ya take the obvious capitals, the generals in the field will just stand back and wreck your shit while you're busy taking pointless cities
No one love us ;_;
its not you, its your shitty country/ government
Two days, that's assuming there's absolutely no resistance at all.
He wouldn't be able to rely on ~russian separatist~ support here either because every polish person absolutely hates Russia so it's not like anybody would want to join his side, it's not like Ukraine.
[editline]18th September 2014[/editline]
Also we have NATO on our side (hopefully)
Yeah, say what you wanna say about Poles, but they're not giving up without a fight, and a fierce one at that. And shit like Russian Separatist wouldn't fly here.
Thought most younger people would probably flee, if given the chance.
Russia hates when NATO nations appear on their boarders, but, then they do this shit, making other nations that aren't in NATO want to join.
Honestly I think Putin is loosing it. Which can be incredibly dangerous for a man with such power.
Poland could put up a fight but Romania uses tanks from the 50s
We use a modified version of the T-55, but pretty much nothing remains of the T-55, it's completely changed.
The TR85-M1 (developed in 1994) is a pretty decent defense tank, it's made for our terrain, which is mostly mountainous. Russia would be in for the real fight when they reach the Carpathian mountains.
Btw know the NATO exercise in Germany? We had a fight between 5 of our MBT's vs 7 American Abrams. All the Abrams tanks were destroyed while only 1 of our tanks took slight damage. How? The Abrams tanks were ambushed.
If you're curious, http://www.military-today.com/tanks/tr85m1.htm
Bring it, pootine
