The Human race is becoming more advanced in space travel all the time, surely another lifeform in the galaxy could have just advanced quicker/before us?

OUR technology can't do that....yet.
Chances are, if a species has mastered space travel so that they can travel the millions of light years to visit us, they can probably do a couple other things we cant.

You lack some common sense.
Do you think people in the 1400s could even imagine today's computers or space shuttles or airplanes? Do you think people now in the 2010s can imagine the technology we'll have in a few hundred years? Who says one of the techs won't be a breakthrough in space travel?
If what history has taught us is correct, there will be shit that we can't even imagine in the far future.

If the army tried to keep them silenced, it was probably because they saw an experimental contraption that they shouldn't have seen, that's all.

Oh no don't hate me, I'll cry.
This is just... retarded
Their proof is going to be Eye Witness Testimony, which is meaningless. Not only that, you would think that if Alien Beings capable of traveling many light years, to hover and inspect our military bases, the most defended locations in the world, they would at the VERY least cut their lights off? And just a couple of guys with this exciting shit to tell? Any hovering and well lit object shooting laser beams inside a military base from the air is going to be seen by more than 1 or 2 people, Hell the entire world would know it. The Media gets hold and reports on a fucking Cessna violating within a mile of restricted air space by accident, let alone an Alien Space Ship hovering directly over our nuclear arsenal
I would LOVE for extraterrestrials to land and make contact and share shit with us and vise versa
But it'll never happen
Right. Because if you have that sort of technology in the first place you're going to give a shit if a bunch of monkies see your headlights. What would we do anyway? Shoot them? If they traveled this far through space, we're already no match.
