Hey wait a second... ... Is that Dragon's penis wrapped around the space shuttle?
As far as I can see it's a tentacle from one of those Lovecraftian horrors on the band behind the main figures.
The Eightfold path now includes becoming "the one".
Tourist gimmick I guess.
I would like to visit this temple.
In 2000 years people are going to see that and be like 'What a bunch of retards, believing in Flying Men and White Ninjas'

Buddhism is essentially atheistic.
They believe in a timeless, formless creator. Not sure if they "worship" it though. It sounds more deistic than anything. [editline]18th January 2011[/editline] Actually I am not too sure, looking into it now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

brb converting to Buddhism.
Coolest Temple ever. The River of Souls (my guess for a name?) is fucking badass. If only my Jedi Temple was like this...
Fuck the paintings, that temple is jaw dropping.
Buddhists are chill. The others are not...

It doesn't exist in Buddhism AFAIK, but in Hinduism (and other Hindu-mythology related religions). " The Buddha explicitly rejects a creator,[4] denies endorsing any views on creation[5] and states that questions on the origin of the world are worthless.[6][7] " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_in_Buddhism
Only two images of the paintings? Well here is a better version of the second one at least. Also this [img_thumb]http://www.feelguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Temple4.jpg[/img_thumb]
Creepy.
brb converting to Buddhism.
You don't convert - it's a way of life not a traditional religion. You must dedicate yourself young one.

"Enlightened one, we are divided on what depictions we wish to paint on our sacred temple ceiling. What might you suggest?" "Are you thinking what I'm thinking? :buddy:"
People dont convert to there belief out of fear of hell. you just convert because there awesome.
They do have a spiritual figure, but it's not worshiped.
Who? I'm very curious about Buddhism, so I would like to know more.
Buddhism is cool. No extremists that I've heard of.
Buddhism is cool. No extremists that I've heard of.
Except that guy that poured gasoline over himself and set himself on fire, while meditating :v:
Except that guy that poured gasoline over himself and set himself on fire, while meditating :v:
Fine by me, it was a protest and didn't harm anyone else.
Buddhists don't have a specific creator, Buddha deemed creation as irrelevant. They do have Heavenly Bodhissatva's but I think they're just really good Buddhists on another plane of existance, I think the Dalai Llama's supposed to be a reborn Bodhissatva. (Although I'm not sure if Therevadan Buddhists have Boddhissatva's, I remember someone saying that Alokiteshavara was recognised in Therevada alongside Mahayana)
