Although it makes sense to think Democrats were against big-business since they were heavily focusing on agriculture. Since the Dems were southern, they were against industry because it took money away from their source of income, farming. Even then though, they supported corporations and monopolies.

This would be one of the primary goals of the Republican party. Therefore, by the FBI's definition of hate group, the Republican party fits the bill.
