It's not so much asking Obama to save us, it's more of asking senate to stop being retarded :v:

and asking the House to not be retarded and religiously biased and motivated is like asking the sun to tone it down a bit.
[editline]15th July 2011[/editline]
what are the Republicans holding out for anyway at this point?.

They are sinking so they will do whatever they can to get as many as they can with them.
Not all republicans are crazy.
Exactly. I consider myself republican but absolutely hate almost everything they decide to do in office. They take things way too far and the news only publishes the bad things republicans do so of course they only seem to have a bad rep because NOBODY HEARS ANYTHING DIFFERENT.
You got to remember, news agencies only care if there is war, conflict or death for their stories. Talking about how a republican politician saved a kitten from a tree wouldn't make the news.
Its natural that nobody hears any good things coming from Republicans because the news likes to focus on bad things!

I don't want to sound like an ass, but how exactly do you have a good understanding of local American politics when you apparently live in England?

I know theres Russians that know more than you think. Theres always studying politics, and being from America you know.
Nobody here knows ANY republicans beside President Bush and Senator John McCain & Palin. And I doubt our neighbor countries do.
We know only a few things about republicans:
They faked 9/11.
They want only oil.
They are racists.
They are christians.
And they love war.
Most people hate the US as a whole (at least where I live). Because of Iraq and McDonalds and houses made of wood. Really.
Talk about bias.
You're making Germans look bad.

You're ignoring the fact that without war, conflict, or death in a story, it's not really hard news. And, of course it wouldn't make the news! Why would it? The person saved a kitten from a tree. What does it matter that they're republican? Maybe a politician, but only if the tree was also on fire, and they saved a thousand kittens.
Maybe, just maybe, nobody hears anything different because they, as a party, don't do anything different. You say that you call yourself a republican, but yet you hate everything they do in office. What?
Yeah, even a couple of my friends who consider themselves to be right wing over here in Australia said they'd vote democrats over republican. I havn't met anyone over here that I've talked to about politics that would vote republican.
Just because were Christians doesn't mean were all maniacs.
They faked 9/11.

You sound more like a moderate, ie not in either party.

Yes, do insist that Republicans are a persecuted group. Now tell me, what good things have Republicans done recently that the mainstream media just didn't publish? Really now, I'd like to know.
My teacher told me to watch loose change because I don't belive it.
Your teacher knows that pretty much every theory on Loose Change was debunked after it was released right? They even released a second version where they removed all the debunked theories, proving that they have no idea what the fuck they're talking about.
Well, the whole world doesn't elect our representatives. And the Republicans have an unlimited supply of corporate money to manipulate our increasingly poorly educated, misinformed population to vote for them.

Way to massively generalise.
I think one of the few good things I have seen a Republican do lately was the one guy who more or less said, "screw off," to the congress's inability to move.
But there's no rain.
This kind of thunder breaks walls and window panes.
Also, this doesn't surprise me at all, isn't this what most of us have been saying forever?
It'll be interesting to see how the 2012 election turns out. It could be good, or it could be disastrous. This past election was a hint to that, with Obama winning, and the largest massing of nutcases I've ever seen commencing. The problem is, while there are many countries in the world fully aware of how insane all of this is, they are on the outside looking in, and the populace living in this country are too absorbed in the supposed 'news' being delivered to them by biased newscasters reporting against any remote ounce of common sense.
So I'm waiting to see what happens, and who is going to be lifted up as an opponent to Obama, and I pray to god our nation doesn't fall under the control of the Tea Party. There's no telling how bad things will be if they take over completely.

movie material here
The problem with that is: does America make it to the 2012 elections?
I'm from Finland, and from the threads and News articles in FP I've come to the conclusion that Tea Party ja Republicans are insane.
Was this post faked by them to make us look bad?
I don't want to sound like an ass, but how exactly do you have a good understanding of local American politics when you apparently live in England?
It's imperative that foreigners learn about American politics because they'll most likely affect us more than you, especially foreign policy.
Here's a Zeke129's quote as best as I can remember it
"By international standards, the american democrats are conservatives and the republicans are insane"
Here's a Zeke129's quote as best as I can remember it

And this is as accurate as it'll get.
Republicans are freaking schizophrenic. During the Bush years, during the mission-heavy iraq and afghanistan war, the deficit rose 500 billion each year. During the 8 years Bush was president, the debt-celling was raised 3 times, each time with full republican support. Then Obama is elected and it comes time to raise it again, and then the republicans call it economical irresponsible of the highest degree to raise the debt celling. This is the very definition of hypocrisy if I ever saw one.
By the way, America? This was known for a long time.
The fact that republicans are batshit insane is common knowledge in almost every single country on earth, and has been for at least 10 years.
I thought everyone knew this !
