That is as tired, used, and abused as an alterboy.

Well, yes. that's why dislike it. I can understand why they would pay to have the domains seized, but that doesn't mean I agree with it.

I'm pretty sure that applies to any company with shareholders, not just publicly traded companies.
Isn't this an obvious sign of corruption? I mean really, it's a fucking bribe.

Possibly, but either way, that's not a good thing.

"Campaign donation"
It's not just direct money donations, it's things like talking politicians out for dinner, and hiring the people to organize the lobbing.
MPAA/RIAA lobby extensively up here as well. And in Europe. And in Asia.
the fact that lobbyists even exist, that groups of people with money or single people with money can have more of an effect on our governments than the people they're supposed to represent shows that our system is broken.

Ok so political parties are bad but but individual interest groups are bad too. How can individuals be linked to government in any significant way without those.
MPAA / RIAA : Capitalism and why it sucks ass
When is it going to stop. Seriously. When is America going to wake up and realise how immensley fucking corrupt their leaders are? Where is the flaming nationalism the yanks are so famous for? It shines brightly on the Internet but when it comes to actually doing shit IRL it's more 'pretend like it's raining' than 'let's take back this country'.

cmon $1.8m total in lobbying for all those seizures combined, with the amount of money the MPAA and RIAA can afford to throw (and has already) at this?
