farmatyr, Your avatar is perfect for this news. But really, that's kind of cool that there could be this many we didn't know about.
God dammit Scientists! These viruses were isolated in a frozen lake for a reason! You have doomed us all! I suspect we'll all be zombies eating everything in their way soon!
I'm immune because I hold the greatest power of all friendship
People raging like "Oh god they're gonna release them oh shit oh shit", you have to realize that most of these viruses probably wouldn't survive in temperatures outside of antarctica.

We've been playing Left 4 Dead for too lo- HOLY FUCK SOMEONES GOT A SLIGHT RASH OH SHIT OH SHIT RUN FOR THE HILLS
In the future when we've cured all the diseases in the world and kept a few frozen samples, wouldn't it be ideal to dispose of them by sending them back in time to an extremely remote area of the world?

This is so... GENIUS
I saw a movie about a week ago that was pretty much this, only bugs from a thawed mammoth carcass. It said parasite, so I thought it was zombies, which might be what's gonna happen with this D:
People raging like "Oh god they're gonna release them oh shit oh shit", you have to realize that most of these viruses probably wouldn't survive in temperatures outside of antarctica.
People also need to realize the vast majority of viruses don't bother with humans. If they've survived in a lake in fucking Antarctica, I doubt they've evolved to infect humans and probably just fuck up other extremophile microbes.
2012 we're all going to die from a virus.
Breaking News: Penguins show flu-like symptoms in Antarctica.
Good thing they cant fly.
But they can swim :ohdear:
We're gonna draw out a little bit of everyone's blood, find out who's The Thing.
Cool. So does this mean we can expect another outbreak soon?

:siren: CNN EMERGENCY NEWS UPDATE: DEADLY PENGUIN FLU VIRUS DETECTED; OBSERVERS OF ZOO PENGUIN EXHIBITS DIE. :siren:
I can sense a I am Legend type scenario coming.
These Viruses will either. Die off, kill us, or somehow benefit us.
I think we're all thinking about the same Z word.
Zucchini? I fucking hate Zucchini man...
This is the start of the snowball that's going to destroy the world in 2012 or it's amazing scientific progression that could cure aids.
There might as well be a Large Hadron Collider hidden under there, if they keep looking.
Who knows! It could give us super powers...
Doesn't this mean we won't have any kind of immunity to it?
Doesn't this mean we won't have any kind of immunity to it?
I would assume so, if it's from a prehistoric lake.
Watch a government procure one of these viruses replicate it in a lab and then use human test subjects abducting from bars and what not! And then they will test it on a town ): (Some people might get what I am referencing too in a way)
DR?
Uh, I don't get... What does DR mean? Is that some type of acronym?
The zombie virus had been rediscovered. Off to the armory.
Or maybe.. They are Viruses that the aliens left behind!!!
