Religious teen shoots and murders another teen for being an atheist

I was talking to this chick and she said that she would be willing to kill someone if her god told her to.
I told her she was batshit insane, but she still thought she would be doing the right thing. :smith:
Pretty typical of facepunch to start blaming religion for this.
Some of you are just as bad as the parents who demonize video games for reputedly causing the same thing.
What was his motive then?
A 14-year-old left unattended for the weekend with a shotgun and ammunition
~>
We don't know the full story, for all we know the guy who got shot had aggravated the shooter to the point of extreme anger
~>
Was probably for self defense in case something went wrong, a 14 year old is...at least a LITTLE responsible, the parents probably never expected this
No one would

If he was actually taught firearms safety and was even somewhat responsible, the gun would have never been loaded, let alone fired.

Games don't tell you that heathens are a threat to your salvation
What was his motive then?
I think what he was saying was you couldn't blame this killing on religion like just like you can't blame 9/11 on all muslims. Plus we don't even know whether or not this was an accident.
What was his motive then?
No where does it say in the old and new testament to kill non-believers. Something was wrong with him, although it was a motive it would have happened regardless of religion.
If he was actually taught firearms safety and was even somewhat responsible, the gun would have never been loaded, let alone fired.
Firearms safety training =/= safety of two kids in a house alone with religious differences and a gun.

Chronicles 15:12-13
And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul, but that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.
Deuteronomy 7:3-4
You shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons, for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods. Then the anger of the Lord would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.
Don't the Ten Commandments or whatever rate higher than the fumbly texts in a bible v.today?

that wasn't what i was responding to, there certainly are "kill non-believer" verses in the bible
if people can post this shit about the Qu'ran i should be able to post it about the Bible

He refers to god.
That's good 'ol religion at work.

carrying out gods work

Games feature excessive violence and are wrongfully blamed for inspiring violent behavior in the people that play them.
Orthodox followings of various religions may insinuate violence against so-called heathens, but this doesn't mean that church goers are especially violent people as a result. While I hardly condone blind religious belief (or much religious belief at all, for that matter), especially when those beliefs preach violence, I also understand that they can't be entirely blamed for isolated incidents like this.
Religion was a cause for this particular incident, but it's ridiculous to imply that it was the only cause, or that it's the cause for murderers in general.

Wow way to fall for the media hype.
In your mind: "Ok son, I'll be leaving for the weekend, so here's the shotgun, the shells are on the table, and uh, have fun!"
What probably happened: "Ok son, I'll be leaving for the weekend, see you on monday!" And there just so happens to be a shotgun under the father's bed that the father doesn't feel like dragging around everywhere he goes.
Religion... the infinitely abused excuse to kill. I have a dream of a world where religion is NOT misunderstood and abused. But that will never happen with states like Alabama and Texas. That will never happen with unchecked mass murder in Africa, that will never happen when uneducated retards are allowed free speech.
The ideal philosophical and scientific world will never happen when people keep being proud of being retarded. Religion used to be a great fucking thing. It still is. It helps explain human nature, our thinking and our history. Now, it's just a tool for murder and biggotry. Does anyone here remember the proper use of religion? y'know Fireplace, evening, legends, myths, guitar, weed?
Just a heads up, but...
:foxnews: Teen shoots and murders another teen because of excessive violent gameplay. :foxnews:
I can predict that.
Dumb kid with shotgun.

well... no. Mostly because unlike with the Quran. We're not ignorant of what is written therein and we're not bandwagoning against it only because Turban=Terrarezt.
So, no. you obviously can't with the same chance of success. If success was even what you wanted.
Ask me, the whole old testament can go to hell... it's pure fiction, a grand tale and gives much insight into human mentality and our need for an explanation. Not to mention its rules would only apply to jews anyway. Any christian abiding by the old testament over the new one is a jew.
I hope religion is soon restored to what it was meant to be all along.

Due to the Sex Simulator "Call to Halo: Modern Dragon Effect"

jesus himself said he was not there to change god's law, the reason why the old testament is part of the bible.
What a great friend, shooting his friend and all.
I know he was the killer, but I feel bad for the kid who shot. He got heated up and fired, and afterward he must have realized he had killed his best friend. That isn't something you can live with. But then I also feel bad for the family of the kid who got shot, for obvious reasons. I hate these stories, it's just seeing more people end up with a tormenting life.
Yeah lets feel bad for the person who isn't dead. You're stupid. "Oh baww this person has a terrible life now."
"Oh baww this person is dead now."
I feel sorry for you, feeling sorry for everybody all the time.
Yet another reason why i have a problem with religion/religious fanatics.
Yet another reason why i have a problem with religion/religious fanatics.
Do you really need to have a reason to have a problem with religious fanatics? Does it even matter that they're religious fanatics? Shouldn't you dislike all fanatics off the bat?
apparently you are
jesus himself said he was not there to change god's law, the reason why the old testament is part of the bible.
Well yes. As long as Jesus' own bidding doesn't contradict with it, in which case the new testament takes front seat. Something which Jews like the WBC have a real hard time comprehending. If you want to be sure, check the new testament first.
Lastly, Religion should never be used for more than a loose moral compass and philosophic contemplation. everything else brings on an insane shitstorm and often costs lives for shitty reasons. Just take a hard look at history.
So, any Christian abiding by the old testament OVER the new testament is a fucking jew! (the religious kind, not the derogatory term edition). The reason why this is a big deal at all is because the Jewish religion values Justice and Retribution while the new testament values Tolerance and equality. People seem to forget all the time.
People picking up a bible and doing a hate rally at the same time are Obviously Oblibious to their own faith, are they not?
The bible may say "Kill" It also says " don't fucking kill!" I'd play it safe and go with the latter... simply because it seems far more emphasized than the former.
So no, i'm not ignorant to the bible and the christian faith, you seem to be though... or you just never think deeper into it. Tell me something, do you believe in the church or god? (if you even believe) the former is a question of mass religion and manipulation, the latter is a question of faith, philosophical contemplation, personal value and making your peace with god. Many seem to value that other people agree with their religion rather than temselves being at peace with their faith. Hence the huge rates of retarded idiots opening their mouth about hate and death while holding the book of love, equality and understanding in their hands... the Hypocrisy is beyond striking in those cases.
Philosophy should be encouraged. Following the horde should be discouraged. Herdmentality can breed ignorance.
This fumes my anger for Religion even more, which makes me want to troll them more.
