and over a 100 million in development.
That much? That's crazy. I can see how Rockstar could spend 100 millions on GTAIV because it was always gonna succeed but this?. In my eyes, it was always gonna flop. The concept was cool but somehow I didn't feel like buying it. Maybe it was the artstyle.
Keep trying Britain, maybe eventually you will make a successful video game franchise. :britain:
Take your pick.
I'm sorry but if your company is low on money, you don't make a fucking MMO, you're bound to be overshadowed by better games like WoW.
Epic Game is expressing interest in buying the franchise. Win.
It just baffles me that they won't even release the servers. If they did that at least the development wouldn't be a total waste.
It just baffles me that they won't even release the servers. If they did that at least the development wouldn't be a total waste.
Because they can sell it instead. To epic for example.
and then Minecraft, a terribly blocky adventure game made by one guy with next to nothing budget-wise, is selling thousands of copies before its even finished. This is how the world should work
Yes but minecraft is original in it's design and execution.
and then Minecraft, a terribly blocky adventure game made by one guy with next to nothing budget-wise, is selling thousands of copies before its even finished. This is how the world should work
Blocky graphics is a feature.
Make it free to play with cash shop, re-release.
this. i would be willing to at least buy the game for 20-30 dollars and then no subscription on top of that. and with no subscription would be a cash shop. but they cant abuse the cash shop system, making it so absolutley NOTHING is available for in-game cash (go play drift city, a total of 10 things (not counting cars) were for in-game cash and cost a bucketload of money). [editline]08:43PM[/editline]
It just baffles me that they won't even release the servers. If they did that at least the development wouldn't be a total waste.
a thing they could do would be drop all development and let people pay for the server software. then people could run their own server and the game would be dead, but not as dead as completly dead.
Eh Grand Theft Auto? Rollercoaster tycoon? Batman Arkham Asylum?
Fable.
God damn it, that pissed me off. I'm in the same boat as you Jake. I call a Class Action Suit for this bullshit.
Yeah a class action law suit against a company which has gone into administration and no longer legally exists. [editline]11:11PM[/editline]
Keep trying Britain, maybe eventually you will make a successful video game franchise. :britain:
Lemmings, GTA, Fable, LBP, everything developed by Codemasters, Runescape, Worms, Rollercoaster tycoon, Transport Tycoon. And they are just the successful ones. [editline]11:13PM[/editline]
I'm sorry but if your company is low on money, you don't make a fucking MMO, you're bound to be overshadowed by better games like WoW.
They had a 100M USD investment, which they went through in a few months.
Eh Grand Theft Auto? Rollercoaster tycoon? Batman Arkham Asylum?
Driver. :colbert:
sad to see it go really but i have never played it...but what hurts most is the fact that we wont get a GOOD crackdown game R.I.P realtime worlds
What was really pathetic is how I was able to easily abuse their lackadaisical system to get endless hours and make money at the same time.
Oh my god, this is going down in the books as the greatest video game fail ever in history.
Oh my god, this is going down in the books as the greatest video game fail ever in history.
Call Guiness.. I bought it and I am very sad. How do you guys think epic will do on it if they do buy it?
Hold onto your clients gentlemen, there's deemed to be private servers now.
Hold onto your clients gentlemen, there's deemed to be private servers now.
My client smells like sweat.
Can people sue for this? I still see apb in the fucking store, why are they still selling this shit? It's like selling blank discs for $60 claiming that there is a game on it.

Suing a non-existent company over a 70~ max paid on this game? Come on
APB sucked
Yeah, we're awesome. They aren't.
and i was just going to buy the game to. awww
Ha. I am so glad I cancelled my pre-order. It sucks for the guys at RTW though.
It doesn't suck they went under, I'm glad i cancelled my pre-order also (High five to everyone that did). They deserved to burn, they made a horrible game and tried to nickel and dime people to play it.... come on. Games like this have to fail, if they don't then people will make the same mistakes in the future and worst of all, we would live in a world of games like APB. No thanks. Enjoy unemployment guys.
I feel so bad for the people that thought APB would be such an amazing game and pre-ordered it.
I feel so bad for the people that thought APB would be such an amazing game and pre-ordered it.
I think its fuckin hilarious :buddy:
They should release the source for the servers allowing modders to create proper private servers.
