or Tuskens vs Jawas.
This makes Battlefront II the only Star Wars game to feature race riots.
I'm going to remain pessimistic about this one. As much as I'd love for Battlefront to make a glorious return, I don't trust EA to not take advantage of the massive Battlefront 3 hype that has accumulated over the years to sell overpriced DLC, a season pass, a premium service, etc.

Like i just see a re-skinned BF coming.

Every body only talks about rebbelion era god damnit I want my OG clones and CIS males back.
I'm not excited about this because of what EA could make DICE do I.e ultra serious and #hardcore. Battlefront 1 and especially 2 had some campy silliness to it, like Palpatine's gimpy floating across Mos Eisely, or Tuskens vs Jawas. I'll not get my hopes up, but I'd love to be pleasantly surprised. I really want this to prove my scepticism wrong.
Battlefront 2 tried to be gritty as shit, and mostly succeeded in the campaign. Little things like native hunt were really the only 'campy silliness' in it. And it's not like Battlefield doesn't have any humor. IMHO, I'm sick of every new game being tongue in cheek self parody, as that seems to be the new trend. I just want big bot battle single player and I'm fine.
Hardline was made by Visceral with help from DICE. [editline]19th March 2015[/editline]
I would be downright fucking SHOCKED if Battlefront 3 came out and didn't have a shitload of DLC for way-too-high prices
Its only overpriced so you'll by Premium, Premium is totally worth it by the way, AFTER all the DLC is out and is on sale.
I hope you get to massacre all the Gunguns
Even though that's literally what BF1 was, what the fuck are you expecting the new one to be? A moba?
Now that you mentioned it, thank FUCK that EA/Disney didn't decide to make a Star Wars MOBA
Have the people who are complaining about a potential reskin of battlefield ever played battlefront? Jesus. [editline]19th March 2015[/editline] Also dice has been extremely good about DLC in 3 and 4. If you look back to the BF2 expansions, you're getting better value now than you did with Special Forces and the Booster Packs.
Battlefront 2 tried to be gritty as shit, and mostly succeeded in the campaign. Little things like native hunt were really the only 'campy silliness' in it.
Really?? Dude, the game has those over dramatic combat rolls, cheesy one liners from the hero characters and flamboyant animations and sounds. I'd hardly call it gritty. Nor would I want it to be.
And it's not like Battlefield doesn't have any humor. IMHO, I'm sick of every new game being tongue in cheek self parody, as that seems to be the new trend. I just want big bot battle single player and I'm fine.
How is this a trend? I'm guessing you're being hyperbolic, because I doubt every game is trying to have ironic fourth wall humour. Most next gen games I've seen have been trying to be serious, and I'd say most AAA releases on PC have been fairly serious as well. I'd be glad to see the new Battlefront not take itself to seriously and just be fun, just like the first two games.
Which is literally what Battlefront was back in the day too, It was a Star Wars reskin of Battlefield 2
Conceptually, yeah, but mechanics were unique and different. The fear some people are having with this one is that DICE would literally just slap Star Wars visuals onto a modern Battlefield game, which aren't the best gameplay-wise these days.

I hope it stands separate from the battlefield series and the previous games too. Battlefront 1 and 2 are great, but they were always bit off to be sometimes in terms of gameplay, I don't think they hold up as well as people say they do. I am kind of hoping it feels more like a VIDEOGAME though like battlefront does, I don't want it to turn into realistic cutthroat feeling of Battlefield. Like I hope you have more health, and guns don't require that you have to aim down the damn sights to not shoot like a handicap child.

All it needs is a ton of maps and instant action where I can play with a fuck ton of bots. That's all I ever did with Battlfront and it's all I want with this. Also space combat
Well this won't have clone wars. Unless they give the Imperials it.
Most likely the rebels will get the LAAT. Makes sense for a rebel faction to use salvaged outdated equipment. Plus, in BF 2 the rebels did get the LAAT for space battles.
No it hasn't the reversed was confirmed. DICE themselves said they're not making a Battlefield clone.
DICE wouldn't say if they were making a battlefield clone even if they were. What they say on the issue is irrelevant.

Aaaaaah. My birthday is the 18th. This, Game of Thrones, and I'm going to Disney World. Aaaaaaaaaah.

I never liked the Rebels. I always felt they were the designated good guys, and that made them less interesting. Of course there has to be a good side, but it always felt significantly less interesting. This is simply my opinion of course, but: I thought the Empire was pretty cool. They had impressive as fuck starships and vehicles, the Stromtroopers were sympathetic since they were mostly portrayed as incompetent fools who just clock into work and do what they are hired to do. Clones were similar to the above, but I liked them more. I felt their starships and vehicles were the best of all the armies, the Clones were charismatic but dedicated to doing their job. And they did it properly. And the droids I didn't mind. I thought their starships and vehicles were alright, the B1s had a bumbling foolishness to them that was endearing. And then the Rebels. Heroes simply by being against the Empire, I never really liked their starships or vehicles as I felt they didn't have the powerful feel of the other armies, and the fact that all I can think of to comment on is the vehicles shows how unmemorable they were to me. Sorely disappointed the Clones Wars got cut out of this game. I'll probably buy it but it's a whole half of the previous 2 games gone.
To be fair, you don't really see the Empire doing anything evil in the movies apart from anything Death-Star related. In the EU you find out that they're massive space racists and they brutally oppress... like, everything.
No it hasn't the reversed was confirmed. DICE themselves said they're not making a Battlefield clone.
They also said BF4 and Hardline were different games from BF3.
I'll just wait and see before wildly jumping to conclusions on what its gonna be
First sane post in this thread
I really hope they up the amount of AI on the field, I was really fearing they'd remove the AI completely. also make the AI less fucking braindead. Though watching the AI blow itself up using thermal detonators was part of the charm. [editline]20th March 2015[/editline] Also I remember in parts of the EU mostly to do with when Kyle Katarn was still a Stormtrooper the rebels did shit like suicide bombing with thermal detonators so they aren't necessarily 'good' outside of the movies. I don't understand the rebel hate, I always liked their uniforms, even the field troopers (Guys stationed on Tantive IV) [t]http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130327201124/starwars/images/f/fd/Renegade_squad_soldier.jpg[/t] [t]http://31.media.tumblr.com/49ed19d6c24b1cee700cae40d66b435e/tumblr_muh5i5RWDU1sh5qqjo1_500.jpg[/t] [t]http://wallpaperswa.com/thumbnails/detail/20130105/star%20wars%20stormtroopers%20jedi%20fantasy%20art%20spaceships%20artwork%201600x1200%20wallpaper_wallpaperswa.com_69.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/BeUqOHO.jpg[/t]

The Prequels have some cool-looking things, the sleek sci-fi style combined with a worn-down look, while the Original Trilogy is much more.. stock, with the dinky stormtroopers and casual looking rebels with big doofy hats or bright orange pilot suits. But then the more practical designs of the original trilogy win out compared to the heavy and fake-looking CGI for almost everything in the prequels. The further back you get, the sleeker and fancier things get, for the most part. The further forward you go, the more worn down and retro-futuristic everything looks. Especially with the weird ass comics back in the day.
Finaly I have been waiting for it since I was 12 and now it's finaly here sniff
