The vast majority of people play fighting games on consoles, and it'll always be like that because controllers are better suited for that style of gameplay.
Last time I checked, arcade sticks were platform-agnostic.
remember when warframe wasnt p2w? those were the days
Unless you want frequent new IP.
whats a Wonderful 101? or a Splatoon for that matter Codename S.T.E.A.M huh whats that? do you even Xenoblade?
whats a Wonderful 101? or a Splatoon for that matter Codename S.T.E.A.M huh whats that? do you even Xenoblade?
Isn't Xenoblade from an existing series?
Isn't Xenoblade from an existing series?
The first one might as well have not existed in the first place because it was a gamestop exclusive that almost no one even knew existed
whats a Wonderful 101? or a Splatoon for that matter Codename S.T.E.A.M huh whats that? do you even Xenoblade?
That's not that much. Also, the Xeno series began on PS1, so you can't include that in Wii-U or 3DS original IP. A quick count of new IPs that began on Vita or PS4, shows that there's about 30+ new IP for PS4 and 20+ with the Vita. This includes games not presently out, and also third party exclusives. If we include only games published by SCEA, we have 20+ on PS4 and 10+ on Vita. These numbers don't include shovelware such as alarm clock minigames or Augmented Reality tech demos.
Buying a console for its exclusives is pretty silly, unless we're talking games that you can't really get any where else and have a very distinct style to them (Nintendo's games, stuff like halo or god of war) mainly because of the fact that... what is on the ps4 that isn't also eventually going to be on the xbone or already on the pc? PC has so many more exclusives than current + last gen consoles it's not even funny then theres nintendo which easily has better first party games than both consoles, but also just kind of... shuts itself off a little bit, so you're awkwardly stuck with those. If you're arguing exclusives nintendo really takes the cake, but every time I go to gamestop, compared to either of the other consoles the wiiu stock is just... awful.
The vast majority of people play fighting games on consoles, and it'll always be like that because controllers are better suited for that style of gameplay. Crossplay is cool for online gaming but most people play these games at LANs or together with their friends, areas where trying to play on two different platforms is nonsensical and awkward.
good thing you can use controllers on PC then. of course, have fun finding nearly as many split screen games for PC. Console dominates local coop.

If there's anything my PS4 excels at, it's gathering dust and running the WWE Network.
what is on the ps4 that isn't also eventually going to be on the xbone or already on the pc?
There's still another 5+ years of unannounced PS4 games, so it's way too early to say if the PS4 will end up with a strong exclusive library like the PS2 or to a slighty lesser degree the PS3, but here is a list of PS4 exclusives out or announced, or PS3/Vita games also available on PS4. Games with an asterisk are already out. 46 PS4 exclusives (this list doesn't seem to have Horizon, The Last Guardian, or 'unnamed Sony Bend game'), as well as 46 Playstation exclusives http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_4_games There are also games that will not be on PC, but will be on PS4 and Xbone (and potentially other consoles) in which case the PS4 version will offer the best framerate and resolution (unless it's a massive fuck up like AC Unity or the recent Resident Evil debacle) I can't find any list of these, but I'm aware of Destiny, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Final Fantasy XV.
and? just because it has Xeno in the name and the same company its the same series now? its a completely new IP that does its own thing
I don't know, wikipedia said it's part of the series. I assumed it had characters, monsters, settings, or some other reference to past game. Much like how each Final Fantasy game isn't a true sequel but all share a few themes like moogles, weapon and spell names, or sometimes monster designs. But if it is genuinely a completely new IP as you say, then you can count it. Still, Nintendo's current consoles offer a very small amount of new IP.
If there's anything my PS4 excels at, it's gathering dust and running the WWE Network.
Technically speaking, an electronic device, especially with moving parts, should gather less dust if it's not in use.
I'm sorry but I must say I am a console guy. I have a more then qualified gaming pc with over 80 games on steam but I gotta say I mostly play games with friends and in person and doing that is a lot simpler with a console. I have people over all the time and I could never imagine passing a keyboard and mouse around the room. I simply bought a ps4 because I have people over all the time, even though I don't play video games. My girlfriend plays Gta all the time and she likes some other games but won't play them because she doesn't like a keyboard and mouse. It's simple, if you have friends you will opt for a console with a control that almost everyone knows and can be learned easily. Split screen is also a great selling point. [editline]4th March 2015[/editline] I don't buy it for exclusives I buy it for the experience it gives me and the experience it gives me is fun late nights with my best friends. I don't care for exclusives and if there's a game I want to play on a device I don't own I get over it
I would have a very hard time justifying a ps4 purchase in its current state, there's no where near enough exclusive games for it yet and fuck paying for online plus I would still need to keep my ps3 since the fucking thing isnt even backwards compatible
Don't expect backwards compatibility to be a thing for a LONG time, if ever. Its too expensive to add hardware support and emulation is literally impossible currently.
I've been playing games I didn't get the 1st time around on my ps3 mainly these past months. There has not been a single good ps4 exclusive as of yet and the ps4 still can't fucking stream movies/music like my ps3 can or the xbone even now.

I don't care what everyone else says this is bad for PC gaming.
I still cant justify any of the new consoles.
It's a well know fact that Sony Pictures is holding the company down something chronic. Sony music hasn't got much to shout about either. If the Sony group went under, they'd probably just axe everything except games & tech. The only viable quality products they put out.
Unless you're interested in frequent original IP.
You have the pc for that.
You have the pc for that.
Context was frequent original IP that isn't on PC.
I have a buddy with an Xbox and he brought it over yesterday, it played great. Worst thing about the Xbox is the controller IMO.
I still cant justify any of the new consoles.
if you're a pc user, xbone/ps4 really just... isn't going to have any benefits, at all really. At least not yet, I suppose.
