To answer you question Zeke, Check the United States Constitution. it Mandates that we have a Military. If you don't like it, then move in and start a movement to get that amended.
Where does it mandate that the military must be used to invade other countries? The constitution guarantees national defense, not imperialism.
Pampered? Are you fucking kidding me?

It doesn't.
It doesn't say national defense either.
It states the existence of a military, and presidential control of such.
It's the President's decision what the hell we do with it.

Still doesn't explain why people who are fundamentally or religiously against war should have to pay for it through their taxes since Glaber uses this argument for other things

Ahh, good ol Imperialism argument.
Show me what lands we have conquered and claim as our own. I disagree with the Iraq invasion, but the UN backed it and it was for violating UN protocols.
As for Afghanistan, it was housing a man that killed just shy of 3,000 people.
Isn't the vast majority of america conquered land?
manifest destiny what what
But Bush didn't do it, so it's okay.
Puerto Rico
wait what was this about

Quick switch points for no reason whatsoever.

Hey, why are they using my tax dollars to hire assholes for the Police Force!?

If it makes you feel any better you can pretend that whatever bit of taxes you pay all go into oil subsidies or the corporate welfare program known as Defense.

I say cut defense, but don't touch Oil Subsidies, those assholes will use it as a excuse to double the prices since they know they can get away with it
Sorry for taking so long to get back to this. I was spending more time on minecraft rather than trying to get people here to understand conservatism, the issue at hand, and my real beliefs.

Glaber, what's to understand about conservatism? it's about holding onto the past and not progressing. What good does that do
Where does it mandate that the military must be used to invade other countries? The constitution guarantees national defense, not imperialism.
Yes, which is why the Militia is in the Second Amendment, as the concept of having standing army during peace time in America was widely viewed negatively by the public until America got its ass kicked in the war of 1812 when the State militias refused to fight outside of their home states and Washington D.C. got sacked

lol fenwick, why'd you dumb this?
Just because you don't have your name on it, doesn't mean much when you control who does anyways. It applies just the same to the US and their puppet states.

Imperialism isn't just colonialism, that is, it isn't just conquering people and taking land. Using military force to advance your nation's economic interests is also imperialism.

You could argue that most of the middle east is imperialistic, then, as the entire western world hangs on their every action due to how it will affect the oil markets.

no but no one is using military force against the US, and middle eastern countries are just as dependent on us buying their oil as we are dependent on them selling it us

Many of them aren't union workers, and can't just take a day off work to go yell slogans at the Capitol without fear of reprisal from their employers.

Maybe they should form a union then, while they still have that right.
Every time I read a post by Glaber I think of this:
