How is public indecency a dumb law? Just wear some goddamn clothes.
It's fucking flesh. Grow up.
You guys watch tons of porn but a guy in his underwear is bad? Keep sheltering your kids from nature America, it'll help them from becoming tramuatized by a nipple.

Except one watches porn in the comfort in their home. If you wish to run around naked in your home then fine. I don't wish to see some fat sweaty fuck walking around in their underwear in public because "well they can."
There is a time and place for everything.

Yeah we are. We think and act as one.

I don't like seeing cleavage. No girls should be allowed to show it and must be covered.
Because i don't like it, others shouldn't be allowed to do what they want because my opinions are more important.

I'm not saying go to extremes with it. Just wear some clothes. It's not like I CAN SEE SHOULDERS COVER MY EYES!
I just found out about this viral thing almost 2 days ago and you people already raised your hipster shields and loathe it to no end.
Holy shit, talk about zero tolerance :v:
The Harlem Shake spawned Pewdiepie doing it in a women's bra and underwear.
Didn't really find it funny to begin with, but I don't like a viral that makes my eyes desire bleach.
How is public indecency a dumb law? Just wear some goddamn clothes.
if you can give me one good reason for a public indecency law that puts people in prison for wearing only their underwear ill give you a medal, how does that sound baby

Then don't watch it.
It's like saying justin beiber makes you ears bleed and then you deliberate listen to it and then complain about it. Nobody is forcing you to watch it, let the rest of the dumbass kids enjoy themselves.

I'm fine with the law "wear some clothes in public." As for punishment, i'm against imprisonment for it. Fines would do just fine.
It's like anti-piracy laws. I'm fine with people trying to protect their copyrighted content. It's when they take retarded measures like counting IP addresses legally applicable to people is when I have an issue. Or when they sue someone or break someones door down when someone illegally downloaded a song. Just fine them a couple hundred bucks and move on. No need for overkill.

Because there is a time and place for everything.
It's the same reason why cops come when people are yelling and screaming their asses off at each other in public. It's a public disturbance.

Except it isn't a matter of opinion.
You try going outside in a public place, not just your lawn for a few seconds in your underwear and tell me the reaction that you get.
No-one wants to see some dude walking around in their underwear.
It's not like we are being ultra oppressed or anything. Asking someone to wear some pants isn't much to ask.
It's hilarious how fast this died.
this died? people in egypt were just doing it yesterday so i think its still happening..

nobody will do anything except give you a few awkward looks, you're acting like someone in their underwear is scary or something. i'm still waiting for a real reason to fine them other than "I DON'T LIKE IT!" and "WEARING CLOTHES IS NOT HARD!", modern laws are based off of logic and fact, not insecurity
Good. I don't want this vile shit to spread anymore.

I believe the logic behind "indecency laws" is that there needs to be a line drawn somewhere otherwise people will inevitably abuse it. Where this line is drawn is based on how society views the subject in question (A good example of this is America's view on profanity, which has grown more and more acceptable through the years), but there always has to be a line.
Underwear has a social and practical stigma against it, being that it is by definition designed to be worn under one's clothes. Beyond that though, to many people it looks trashy/slutty/uncivilized to have that on display in public and I can understand that logic, as it has both a heavy sexual connotation as well as not really being designed for fashion. This does get a big odd when you start discussing how underwear is somehow less acceptable than a woman's swimsuit even though they both cover up the same amount of skin, but that might be an issue of what the purpose is. Swimwear is designed for swimming, underwear is designed to be under your clothes.
My best guess anyway.

Well this is an inherently subjective topic. Is it even possible to judge, objectively, what and how much we should wear while in public?
Well this is an inherently subjective topic. Is it even possible to judge, objectively, what and how much we should wear while in public?
nope, not at all, which is why there should be no restrictions on what we can wear.
nope, not at all, which is why there should be no restrictions on what we can wear.
Right, but this doesn't work in practicality. If you don't draw a line, then people abuse it.
Right, but this doesn't work in practicality. If you don't draw a line, then people abuse it.
abuse what? their underwear?
abuse what? their underwear?
I guess I might have misinterpreted what you were arguing. To clarify, are you saying that people should have absolutely no restrictions as to what they can or cannot wear, as long as their genitals are covered? If so then I apologize; I had gotten it into my head that you were advocating no restrictions whatsoever on how much someone would wear, which would result in some people forgoing clothes altogether :v:

well in the case of this thread and its relevance to egypts laws, i'm arguing for the sake of people being able to go out in their underwear without fear of penalty, but i don't think there's anything wrong with public nudity either. i've had that debate a few times before, and it always boils down to either "what if someone shits themselves" (dumb) or "i don't like the look of naked people" (also dumb)
its because it results in a torrential avalanche of unfunny zero effort content
Of course, but there are always some really awesome ones.
It's funny to see how you guys are all rating this winner just because you dislike harlam shake videos.
I hate them too but arresting people for it is dumb and over-reacting. Kinda sad to see facepunch will be okay with shit like this if only they ban things they don't like.
I'm rating this winner because they had the balls to dance around in their underwear in public.
In egypt of all places.
I was driving home from work, stuck on a CDr labelled in pencil as grime. One I burnt last year, back when Harlem Shake was released for free. Anyway this song comes on and I just couldn't listen to it. I don't know just the image of kids blocking out to it but would've never given it a second glance if it wasnt for this meme.
We spent a lot of the summer rinsing it though and I used to really enjoy it
[editline]25th February 2013[/editline]
I think I'm just sick of hearing about it. My housemates discovered Harlem Shake videos the other day and thought it was the best thing ever, but about six months ago they were telling me to turn that shit off
