Argentine President Fernandez to complain to UN about "British militarisation" around Falklands

Argentina's president is such a dumb bitch, she needs to learn to fuck off, it's our land, and the people that live there want to remain British, so Argentina hasn't got a leg to stand on.
that's such a colonial mindset.
pretty sure we went to war over that stupid mindset that both sides had.

I'm sorry but if a country that invades an area that does not want to be part of the invaders territory then I would certainly say the Argentinians were the ones in the wrong.

TIP, I usually like and respect your posts but you're wrong here. Not in saying that they weren't always British controlled, but in saying that this proves anything and that saying otherwise is a colonial mindset.
It's not colonial, because Argentina has no claim to the Falklands, the Falklanders have a distinct national identity as Islanders (Call them British and you will get floored. They're a pretty mixed bunch, it's just the largest demography is UK descended), and they are CHOOSING to remain with the UK, and have done for god knows how long. Any sympathy that Argentina did have amongst the populace mostly evaporate post-81, for obvious reasons. Being invaded will do that to oneself.
Check the other thread for people breaking down the demographic mix that composes the Islander population. It's not just the UK, and it's not a Colony. You may as well call Scotland or Belize a Colony (Belize is an independent nation that retains strong ties to the UK, and didn't want independence at the time it was granted due to Guatamela claiming that they were not a real nation). And unlike the Scots, there is NO movement in the FI to become Independent of the UK - They're quite happy as an overseas territory.
I really wish you kids would visit the Islands or talk to people from them before you spraff your crap, uninformed opinions about what's best for the Isles. The way that democracy works is that's what's best for the people is what the people want, and what the people who want, the ones who have lived their for generations and have more claim than ANYONE else to the land thusly, is to be Islanders and to be a UK OT. They have the option of independence regularly offered to them (More than Scotland gets, I might add), but they don't want it and they certainly don't want to be kicked off their land and out of their homes by the jackbooted heels of Argentine Liberators.
well uh, if you look above:
what a silly dispute over a little bit of land with 3000 people on them.
unfortunately for Argentina they fancy themselves British.
i think it's already pretty set that i think they have the right to self-determination. i just feel that part of the outside conversation about the falklands is set in colonial thinking.
