A Gas Mask and Armor-Wearing Jogger Scared a Bomb Squad into Blowing Up His Mail

I understand it's a cardio mask, but I seriously think that most people that wear a REAL gas mask in public are weirdos. That's a pretty badass way of losing weight though,

Gas masks are pretty neat. They look cool and that feeling of anonymity you get is awesome. Besides, what people consider 'normal' clothing these days s pretty fucking insane. People wear bright red fucking skinny jeans for gods sake.
I don't own one, but I totally would.

Highschool girls wear their pajamas to school now.
Let me repeat that.
PA-JAM-AHS
As in the stuff you fucking sleep in.
And the is widely acceptable.

If people are allowed to wear pajamas as regular clothing, I am allowed a fucking gas mask if I want one.
To be honest, I think it's pretty stupid if you think people over reacted.
If I looked out of my window and saw some guy wearing what looks like a gas mask and body armour run up to my letter box, stick a package in it, and then run off down the street I'd dive out of the nearest door/window (as long as it wasn't in the direction OF the package) and try to take cover.
If a regular guy did it, I'd think nothing (unless he was looking really suspicious about it), but combine that situation with what appears to be protective equipment for a potential biological/chemical weapon and the possibility of shrapnel and I'd get pretty jumpy. I don't see why I WOULD become the target for such an attack, but I'm betting the families of everyone who's ever been killed in a terrorist attack ever thinks the exact same thing, "why him/her?"
You guys are fucking weird. No offense, but wearing pajamas is a lot more normal than wearing a fucking gas mask. Anyone who runs around in intimidating clothing (an example being a gas mask-looking thing and an armor-looking thing) gets what's coming to him, I don't see what's so wrong about the assumptions they made. I mean, he was running, so that means he fucking ran up to it, stuffed it in, and then continued to run the fuck away. Frankly, if they didn't investigate further, I would be severely disappointed in this world.

Thats just like, your opinion man.
So much for the freedom to express yourself by wearing whatever you want. Its not like anyone cared about that right anyway... right?
Yea, I want to be able to walk into a bank with a duffel bag and ski mask on and my good ol' hunting shotgun and not be judged. And my brother can't even drive around Detroit anymore in his Klan uniform without being yelled at.
Really? Did you really say that?

There's a difference between jogging and sprinting.
Oh look, another fear instilled person. I'm not surprised they would mistake a guy for a terrorist by the way he looks and acts. Someone wearing military gear and shoving a box into a mailbox in front of everyone in public? That's a terrorist alright.
If they were really shoving a bomb in a mailbox, I assume they'd be disguised as a normal person.
I understand people being "better safe than sorry" but so many times I've seen news stories where it's just someone calling someone a terrorist based on what they look like and what they do.
But don't you think that there are dumb terrorists who don't think ahead and make sloppy mistakes like that?
Another good reason to start educating people here in 'murrica about exercise. People would have understood what he was doing.
"Oh, look a guy jogging with a cardio mask and weight jacket. Cool."
Instead of:
"OMG A GASMASK AND BODY ARMOR, TERROR ALERT TERROR ALERT!"
