After reading about it I find it more to be erotica than anything else. This is under the grounds of why I think twitch banned it. Censorship is bad and shouldn't be done. Twich as a private company can do whatever it wants though unless it's illegal.
Uhh how is this game erotica? Please explain.
Uhh how is this game erotica? Please explain.
He gets off by morally questionable things.
Yeah, it's unfair, but you know what? Life is unfair. Twitch is a private company. Their service is their own. Even "public" services like television and radio don't have to broadcast anything they don't want to and they're regulated by the government.
No one is saying they have to broadcast it, we're saying that it's a stupid decision that doesn't seem to have any sound justification.

Ok. Here's the problem. It's not their fucking content. It's ours. They're a curating service. An open curating service. The creators of the things they curate have every right to voice their protest when they arbitrarily shut their doors to a specific kind of content. I can't even fucking believe people are defending them in this case.
once youtube implements a proper paid subscriber system, twitch will die. has way better tech and servers
hatred is rated ao. manhunt is rated m.
They still rate PC games?
Yeah, not fucked up at all.
But I can go murder a million virtual people and that's fine? Arbitrary nonsense
Hey all! This thread inspired me to download the beta build and try the game for myself before casting any judgement on this issue (kinda like Twitch shoulda done, lol). So, I hated it. I found it boring and off-putting, even with the understanding of what's available in the beta and features to come. That said, it does not deserve a ban from Twitch at all. I could see lots of people playing this on Twitch and either having a blast being a manipulator or killer, or just from laughing at it for how gross it is. Whatever the reason, it's a piece of art in my eyes, and all art should be shared. I think the same about Hatred, too, for that matter. It's kinda like... really boring to watch someone stream it. Maybe that's why they banned it? (EDIT: this is a joke, for clarity. I know they banned it over the AO / moral panic it caused) I still agree that they should uphold the removal of strictly pornographic games like Rapelay and all that awful shit. YS is just kinda... grossly underwear and meme obsessed? It isn't a demon that needs banishing. Free marketing for YS I guess? Hola.
people can differentiate the real world and a fantasy world.
After browsing SH I tend to doubt that when people talk about this like soccer mom's finding out about Doom or GTA.
Where are the meme's? The Easter eggs don't count.
Hey, sorry if I came across as too hostile on it! I really didn't like it and I wanted to make that point clear, but it has some cool ideas, and I actually laughed at some of the cosmetics for your character (such as the Korra-hair or the bald hair having an Agent 47 barcode on it). The one I came across that felt super weird and out of place was the Undertale reference, actually. I'm glad the YS dev liked the game, but it struck me as something just kinda thrown in there. Where I could understand nods to other animated series like Korra or DBZ in cosmetics, having that in the game world felt like an odd choice, especially considering the difference in message between the two games. And yeah, I guess by your definition it's an Easter Egg, or at least that's what you meant. Didn't mean it as an insult, but I guess meme is basically synonymous with that now, so pardon me.

It's just that references =/= meme's, in most cases at least.
Good, Glad it's banned.
Censorship is GREAT.
Yeah, not fucked up at all.
What is Hitman. [editline]25th January 2016[/editline] I never see anyone complain about Hitman. Hitman is, quite literally, a murder simulator. A murder simulator franchise.

Really, people are just riled up over it because it's based off anime. The hate boner that so many people have for anything that has to do with anime is ridiculous.
So, after reviewing the three Tumblr posts responding to the one guys claims, lemme give a rundown and make it easy to understand. Part 1: Mike Z. He idolized Mike Z, found him on an IRC chatroom, and showed him a prototype fighting game he made in unity. Mike Z gave criticism, which YandereDev did not take well. He admits he fucked up, mentions they later had a PM convo to clear it up, and he regrets it. I can understand something like this, accepting criticism is something most people have to learn to accept, and often times it hurts. Cant really fault him for this if he seems to have learned from his past mistake and used it to better himself. Part 2: Pedophile. Pretty much a bullshit claim if his refutal is to be believed. A girl sent nudes out to multiple people, including him, and claimed to be 18. Then suddenly disappeared soon after. People speculated why, and some thought it had to do with her parents, which led to people assuming she may have been underage. Im not even sure how old YandereDev is. Context is important. Part 3: Volunteers This ones longer but he's essentially saying that everything should be treated as dispensable in a project like this, which, knowing the development of some big name mods, i can kind of see, even if it seems a little assholish. Volunteers arent being paid, and the only lead is YandereDev himself. Even then, he seems to admit some fault in himself for it, and that he's only had two instances of drama with Volunteers. One thing i noticed was this from the third part:
"Most volunteers are mature, professional, respectful, take criticism well, and don’t waste my time. There have only been one or two volunteers who, sadly, didn’t match that description."
Now, im just assuming, guessing, and all, but its possible that these other volunteers who are slinging shit are going through what YandereDev himself went through with MikeZ after Mike criticized YD's 3 months of work in Unity. YandereDev gave them some critique on work they were doing for the game, they took it personally and slung shit back at YandereDev when they shouldnt have, and are still bitter over it. In which case, a lot of this makes way more sense. In the end, its a his word vs. their word type of thing, so its best to treat any of it with a grain of salt. Oh yeah also this twitch ban is complete bullshit. [editline]25th January 2016[/editline]
Really, people are just riled up over it because it's based off anime. The hate boner that so many people have for anything that has to do with anime is ridiculous.
Yet Akiba's Strip is still fine. Let me just give you all a run down of what that games about. You strip people. Forcefully. Thats it. Thats the entire game. [editline]25th January 2016[/editline] BY THE WAY. I dont think it was ever stated how old the people in the game are. Could be an all 18 type of school like that good ol' hipster Dontnod game that came out last year. [editline]25th January 2016[/editline]
After reading about it I find it more to be erotica than anything else. This is under the grounds of why I think twitch banned it. Its very clearly using tropes (mind the word) found in a lot of generic anime. If it were erotica, in any case, why would the nudity be censored? YandereDev has even said in a video he's open to compromise if it means getting the game back up on Twitch, clearly the naked anime bodies arent that important to him. The panties have an intrinsic value to the games mechanics, which would make that difficult, and he said he really cant do anything there, but yeah.
In GTA V killing hookers is never part of the game. Sure you can do it if you want to, but that's the nature of a sandbox, you can do almost anything. In YS this stuff is required as part of the game. Your objective is to get rid of the other lovers, and that's how you do it.
You can't even kill the first one right now because she doesn't have AI or scripting implemented. It's basically a glorified tech demo. Plus the dev has expressed that killing isn't going to be the only way; you could play match maker and get them interested in someone else without having to hurt anyone, or use rumors and gossip to ruin their reputation, and so forth and so forth. If Hitman is the apt comparison for the game, then like in Hitman there's a large number of planned methods to create a solution, from straight up death, to fucked up, to essentially a pacifist run - the last of which isn't even possible in Hitman games to targets themselves usually for obvious reasons. Also, you know, you can't really get away with killing a bunch of people recklessly without getting arrested or causing things to get way worse for yourself, and you can't even attack the teachers without full physical training or they'll instantly subdue you. Meanwhile in Hitman, you can kind of fucking go postal and kill everyone in the area without a second breath and still complete some of the missions even if it's for a godawful score, and in certain points in the series it's even encouraged to be guns blazing with a flagrant disregard for any life in your path (or in the case of [sp]Blood Money's ending[/sp], a flat-out objective to kill everyone).
Im not even sure how old YandereDev is. Context is important.
According to the game's wiki he's 27. And I think his post mentioned this was about 6 years ago so he was only 21 at the time. If she was underage the pics were illegal but in many states in the US she could have legally been as young as 16 and they could have been having sex for all the cops would care. And that's if she was indeed actually underage.
Honestly it sounds like the safest, and easiest way is to not kill anyone :v:
People usually only bring up unproven claims to slander people they don't like.
People usually only bring up unproven claims to slander people they don't like.
This. Generally speaking, dont just assume this shit is true. Innocent Until Proven Guilty, the burden of proof is on the guy making these claims. If he cant come up with definitive evidence, then dont listen.

If he cant come up with definitive evidence, then dont listen.
In today's society it's practically guilty 'til proven innocent with how kneejerk people are over the smallest of things. And all it takes is for one bad message to be broadcast to hundreds or thousands of people on the net before people immediately start raising hell over something they barely even know the context to.
Are there any updates on this or is Twitch still playing the stubborn silence game?
Are there any updates on this or is Twitch still playing the stubborn silence game?
Twitch isn't so much as responding to questions made by the developer, let alone the community. Looks like it's stubbornly staying on the banlist.
oh boy no Muhammad Sex Simulator 2015 time to stream it
twitch sure seems to hate anime based on the banned list
And I really don't get why they hate the Sakura series in particular so much. There are hundreds of borderline eroge VNs, yet Sakura Beach is pretty tame (VNDB labels it 15+, and AFAIK it doesn't have a hentai patch yet).
