Looks like Comcast
popped a cap in your ass
i hate my neighborhood that doesn't have fiber optics or cable internet providers.
fucking 3mbps for $25 a month god damn i hate it here
I get 3mbps for about $90 :smithicide:
Of measureless length is the dick that Comcast can suck.
I may only be getting 5 mbps, but atleast I have unlimited data usage. Assuming I use my max bandwidth 24/7 for one month I could download 12,960,000 MB or 12,656 GB.
Though I have a 2mbs connection, I also have no data cap. My experiences in Chile this summer make me quite grateful for what I have:

Though it says iPhone, it was actually my itouch connected to wifi.
I'm looking into alternative ISPs. All I have in my area is Comcast and AT&T, and AT&T has their 250GB cap while Comcast is probably going to start a 120GB cap in my area. Is there any other solution?
you could get a direct line and cut the difference by selling it to your neighbors as extremely cheap, fast, reliable internet
How is $100/month a good deal?
In Sweden you get 100mbit uncapped for about $40-50/month :v:
Holy shit, dude. I'll trade you our petrol prices for your internet.

Because reliable internet isn't guaranteed in the states. Greed is.

That's shit compared to Fiber-Optic, man, but I'm staying in a hotel on 32k wireless (thankfully, I'm going back home in a month... I survived a year of 32k!). I have a 2 mb/s connection at home I would love right now. Maybe you can't download large things instantly, but at least I don't have to leave my computer downloading a Steam game for three days on it. :v:
Swedish ISPs are awesome
I pay $31 for 100/10
By the way, for anyone that uses Comcast (probably other ISPs, too): torrenting anything (legal or not) will get your service disabled or a throttle placed on you. It causes a lot of traffic and headaches for them.

Damn. I keep hearing good things about Sweden!
Free university
Largely secular
Bitchin' internet
one time I went over my download cap and they throttled my connection so bad that I got something like .03/.01 down/up and 8000 ping on a server 10 miles away in speedtest
I've got 15/5Mbit FiOS, it's really good. You actually get your full up and download speed all the time (as long as the server you're getting files from is uncapped as well)

Encrypt traffic = no throttle anymore.

I get 17.5MB down and 2.1MB up, at least I get a static IP and no caps or throttling

You can set a static IP locally, it's not something your ISP controls

Poor bugger. Switch to Bahnhof, it's 100/100 for €9.
6MBps at $45 a month, i know it seems bad, but really it's the ABSOLUTE BEST they offer here in missouri outside of cities. At least there isn't a cap, i think i would have hit that 250gb cap in 2 weeks of redownloading my steam games.
Oh, you guys think thats bad??
Come up here to Canada, where caps are lower and prices are higher.
I highly doubt the download speeds are anywhere near advertised during regular surfing on sites that Comcast doesn't own.

There are ISPs like TekSavvy that offer 300GB caps or no caps for pretty cheap
I'm on Sasktel and don't have a cap either
Internet providers are a joke, look at virgin the uk. They charge retardedly high prices and you don't get the speeds they say either.

If you're in the maritimes, Eastlink doesn't have any caps on anything below 30mbps

Well there you go
As long as you aren't in the territories, alberta, manitoba, quebec, or an extremely rural area, you can get a plan without caps
Actually I think MTS doesn't have caps either so take Manitoba off the list as well
I am in Alberta and I don't have a cap, (though my old ISP bitched us out for downloading too much stuff, which is why we left their service).
I don't know about you guys, but 250gb cap with 100mb is still better than 250gp cap with anything slower...
If you're going to complain, complain about the cap in general; it is a bit low, regardless of how fast it is. However, if you don't process 250gb in a month, then what exactly is the problem?
I mean, essentially, you guys are complaining about it being too fast, as if it would be better if it were slower. Just because you can run out your service in 5 hours if you wanted to, doesn't mean you have to, or even that it would be easy.
Still beats my 100gb datacap.
I have a 5 GB bandwidth cap.
You know what I get capped to? 8 Kb/s.
And you think you have it bad.
lol i dont have capped internet sucks to be most of america
joke's on you that's the only plan comcast has with a data cap as far as i know
i never had a data cap, verizon doesn't have a data cap, i dunno what other major providers there are
I like having no cap.
Having to watch on how much I've used would be such bullshit.
