TX: Cheerleader dropped from squad for not cheering sexual assailant, must pay up by court
Because getting raped means the victim is in the wrong.
Get out please. You shit up every thread with your shitty theories.
I've said this multiple times, the court ruled TWICE that he's innocent of rape, at this point the family can
A) Remove the daughter from the school housing her supposed rapist
OR
B) Stay in the school and continue to be a part of the cheer team with full knowledge that the supposed rapist is still in the school and currently on the sports team.
What's the logical option here?
Popular? I can't imagine his high school contacts are so important they could influence a federal court. You seem to have decided what "most people" would be against as well. How exactly did you obtain that information? did you conduct a survey? or did you watch a movie where all the children are played by 30 year olds and decided your judgement on that.
i don't know how you could deride people for being judgmental then post shit like that

If you think you can discredit my arguments with my past posts (irrelevant to this discussion) then you're wrong. This just shows me that you haven't got the intellect to construct a proper response to anything I've said. As it stands you are still an ignorant twat and I will easily shoot down anythign else you have to say.

No matter if he was drunk or not its still rape and he should be trialed and then sent to jail.

That's all people on FP ever do, ignore your point, attempt to discredit your post, and then have flocks of 12 year olds agree with them so they think they're right even though they're yet to respond to the point you brought up.

You type like that maverick guy
i don't know how you could deride people for being judgmental then post shit like that
I didn't judge him though. Maybe I insulted him. I challenged his post, I pointed out what he had said and the fallibility of his comments.
and then I asked him how he came accross his decision. I.e "did you conduct a survey"
Thats how I post "shit like that"

he was talking about the social ramifications of attempting to defeat someone who's popular at school in court
all you did was sneer bullshit at him so you have no reason to pretend you're clever
so you don't deny it?
Retarded is a derogatory description for someone with a mental disability of some kind, generally. I can't claim I am a retard, I don't suffer from any disabilities so of course I must deny it.

I can't see this video. It's not available in my country. I'll take a random guess and assume it's a song you made with you and your friends. If it is, good for you. It's irrelevant to the discussion though (if it is ofc a song you made with you and your friends)

it's flock of seagulls
Uh, no, the lower courts can mean the 5th District Federal Court and/or the various Court of Appeals
Ah, okay. In Canada, you've got Municipal Court, Superior Court, Provincial Court, and Supreme Court.
Fuck this shit, I'm moving to the UK.
he was talking about the social ramifications of attempting to defeat someone who's popular at school in court

Normally I pretend I'm retarded.
I did read his post btw.
"Cases like this, especially high school rape, are really hard to put on trial"
Where's the evidence of that? Are you some kind of veteran high school rape lawyer?
"because the guys who usually end up raping are popular"
ReallY?! could they not just pull a girl then if they were so popular??
"so they get it through their thick skulls the girls want it."
Do they now? is that from your own experience?
"This means that most people would be against the victim going to trial"
And this is where I had to assume you've done some kind of survey.
"which only make her feel worse."
If what you said is all true then ofc...
"I agree...I wanna puke all over this basketball player."
This doesn't sound like someone "talking about the social ramifications of attempting to defeat someone who's popular at school in court" Just a bunch of claims with no evidence
it's flock of seagulls
My random guess was wrong then? what is flock of seagulls? did you mean "a" flock of seagulls?
Aren't sports cults just wonderful?
Because who cares that they're a group of useless, petulant, credulous wretches, they can throw balls around. Fuck the rape victim, we need to beat that other group of useless, petulant, credulous wretches so that we can say we're the best.
This isn't a sports problem, this is a problem that applies to pretty much anyone with celebrity status.
:wtc: So some one gets dropped from a cheer leader squad for refusing to applaud for some one who RAPED HER! And the courts don't see this as an infringement of freedom of speech?
Umm, yeah, thats what the article says.
Umm, yeah, thats what the article says.
Minus the freedom of speech part.
Cause you know, it wasn't actually an infringement.
Some people seem to hate it when you offer them a different perspective. I'm not saying the boy was right. All I'm saying is that I won't pass judgment without evidence. If i was the girl's parents I certainly wouldn't have opened a $45k law suit because my daughter got thrown off the cheer leading squad.
If he honestly did rape her then it's a shame he got off but I won't just assume he did because you said so and I'm pretty sure you haven't read anymore about it than i have. The two federal courts are more likely to be right than wrong and I am pretty sure jimmy nobody from the basketball team isn't gnna have enough pull to walk away scott free if there was evidence to suggest he raped someone from his school.
What if, and I'm not saying this did happen, the girl in question is just lying because he's her ex boyfriend. Or what if she just got too drunk and everything she did was consensual but her parents found out and she screamed rape?
Whats more if the original poster had spun this story like that I'm willing to bet you would all be calling her a bitch and passing your quick judgments on her instead of him.
I'm not passing judgment here I just like calling out people's ignorance and gullibility on these matters. Go ahead and flame me, call me stupid. I'll make you look like a fucking tart even if you're too stupid to realize it.

I'm pretty sure it was a $45k fine for a frivolous lawsuit. AKA abusing the legal system.

It would be PURE hell in your high school if you went forward with a case against one of the most popular guys. Most of them can also get away with sexual abuse as well, its quite pathetic how easy it is the bend over the student body to get them to not bother you.
Being forced to cheer for a rapist.
Wow. Just when I thought the world had an inkling of hope.
She's not being forced to cheer. She is a cheerleader. That is the point of the court's ruling. If she doesn't want to cheer, she can not be a cheerleader if she so chooses.
Wipe Texas off the Map = America's positive international Image +1000%

You clearly watch too much tv
What did you expect. It's Texas.
what did you expect, the rapist was black :downs:
[sp]that's how dumb you sound[/sp]
I'm pretty sure it was a $45k fine for a frivolous lawsuit. AKA abusing the legal system.
You're right. They wouldn't have known they would be fined for it.
But look at it this way. She's fined for a frivolous lawsuit. This incident must have been pretty minor. Even if he got off and it was just the case that they just couldn't prove it they would have at least not fined her for it.
This leads me to believe the girl mistook something minor like an indecent pass on her and she exaggerated it. If a judge heard her stand up in court and admit all he did was try and touch her or something then he would have fined her for it.
This is just speculation though. I won't pretend that this is what actually happened as we're not told what was said in court are we. If it is the case that there was doubt but they fined her anyway then like I say her parents should have expected it.

Texas is actually an extreme right wing state that always does stupid shit like this.
It's more like saying "The rapist was the black guy that's been convicted of rape before."
You're right. They wouldn't have known they would be fined for it.

Um the claim was she was raped by MULTIPLE PEOPLE. He was just one of them.

Pretty much, once one court throws it out that's when you should drop it. Taking it to another court is just being stupid.
I bet her being raped was her being felt up at a party by the guy while he was more than likely drunk

I guess that's why the capital's super liberal.

Was anybody actually charged with rape?
