Wouldn't they be able to fix this problem by attaching stabilizing thrusters to the side? I mean, it's not like it's rotating with much force, so a small thrust once a day should be able to stop the rotation, right?

Not after acceleration. And it doesn't require fuel, so it's much better for long space voyages.

They have slow acceleration but they really never stop accelerating so they're much better for longer trips.
