It shouldn't spread unless the sim is setup to allow it. But shit sometimes happens.
All it did was get bigger than even my avatar and shit smoke everywhere :v:
How did they account for all the hermaphrodites and androgynous/robots/ponies/etc? Legitimately curious.
man, second life is fucking weird. it's sort of a perfect example of how you can give people the ability to do anything, and to make anything, and all they'll do and make is creepy sex things by a certain point. Eh, who named you Arbiter of All Which Is Humorous?
thought gmod already proved this

When I used to play Second Life (stopped only because I was perma banned for "fraud" when I literally did nothing but build by myself with the occasional stranger/friend) I had a chat with a girl named Tabitha Oxide about Second Life. She really was a girl and took Second Life VERY seriously. Like to the point where her avatar has a Facebook. However she was super cool. She actually made money in Second Life through selling her army themed products. I remember she had outfits, sandbags, etc. They were pretty well made too, me getting free samples of some of it. When I asked her about skydiving stuff on the SLExchange website I said "Why is it that there is SO much available? Why is it SO highly priced and what makes it SO fun to use?" Her response: "Well. A lot of people take Second Life seriously and use it it to explore their imagination in a shared space. Think about someone who's been in a wheelchair their whole life. On a VERY basic level they can walk again. But let's look a little deeper. This kid can customize his character to look like himself or his ideal self and do whatever he wants to their character. When we play other games we say "Oh wow I can't believe my character did that." But in Second Life we tend to say "Oh wow I had such a fun time doing that!" So in a way, a lot of people live vicariously through Second Life." I think what this study shows isn't so much that seemingly female avatars strip naked. It's that people who take the game seriously (who I imagine the study was done on) are more likely to flaunt it if they got it. I see Second Life as a fascinating social experiment. Give people a cooperative, interactive and infinitely changeable space and watch what they create. You get people who simulate having families, people who fight, people who just talk, people who party, people who partake in sports, people who try to make money, people who manipulate each other and people who fuck. We express our best AND worst qualities. Whether in a video game or real life.
Yeah Second Life is pretty fascinating when you learn to appreciate it for what it is
Yeah Second Life is pretty fascinating when you learn to appreciate it for what it is
You're implying there's anything to appreciate. There's only creepy shit to point & laugh at.
It's a trainwreck of a ~game~
I made a horse with a horse penis then went to a furry club ding ding DING DING ding ding my experiment told me that furries love virtual horse dick
maybe i should start playing Second Life , since stuff gets interesting
I tried Second Life once. All I can say that, as a furry, the furry community on there had me weirded out.
maybe i should start playing Second Life , since stuff gets interesting
If everything else fails, you can make stuff and sell it for Linden dollars, which you can sell for actual money. Last time I checked 250 Linden dollars = $1.
thought gmod already proved this
Second Life started in 2003; earliest version of GMod was like 2004 or 2005. plus, GMod is still mostly used for non-pornographic things, and since you need to pay to get it there's a little less creepy riffraff.
I used to play Second Life when I was completely bored but not tired enough to go to sleep, so maybe for about an hour a week. It was pretty interesting, I liked how seriously people were with it. I remember ending up at a wedding party and the people at the party then went on to get married in real life later on. It's sort of funny, getting married in a game and all that but it was cool. Everyone in their virtual suits being nice, not doing anybody any harm. It's just a way to kill time.
I remember making myself a giant goofy bird costume and jumping on people (that were trying to roleplay seriously).
Does the second life shop still have stolen models and shit on it?
Hahaha who in their right mind would analyze second life for research? Seriously that world has gone so fucking weird its incredible.
Hey what's the freaky open source version of Second Life?
Not sure about open source but do you mean worlds by any chance?
Not sure about open source but do you mean worlds by any chance?
Is that the one where some guy made a video on worlds and went through the creepiest shit.
Reminds me of a media class I took back when I was in college in 2006.. we had this teacher that was OBSESSED with Second Life. He spent nearly a whole class talking about how amazing and revolutionary SL was and how it was like the future of the internet. He went on about the virtual economy, virtual stores, and how you "could do anything". We were shown a documentary-style video of it where these guys were showing features and talking about it in the eerily similar theme as when everyone talked about VIRTUAL REALITY headsets back in 96'. Then as the camera did a flythrough of some of the areas, you could see some very er.. interesting avatars... as in some with tits the size of basketballs. The look on my classmates faces was priceless.
