Is the ocean floor really the best place to start drilling? Why not dry land? It just seems like theres a whole lot of unnecessary water. Unless of course it's being used as a cooling agent on the drill, in which case it makes sense.
One of the reasons we know the Earth's core is still molten is because we still have a magnetic field. If I remember correctly one of the reasons Mar's atmosphere got stripped away was because its core solidified and the resultant lack of a magnetic field allowed solar wind to strip Mar's atmosphere.
No, our core has a lot more radioactive material than mars, the magnetic field is only because we have a molten core [editline]1st December 2015[/editline]
Is the ocean floor really the best place to start drilling?
Was gonna top that by saying a dildo made out of sun material but literally everything on earth came from the sun
So... dildos are stardust? On topic, what can we drill into the mantle with that won't be melted? Some kind of Titanium Alloy?
what if they drill it and then water gets in the hole and puts out the core's fire we'll be doomed, our only savior will be dennis quaid

A big whole for earth and a giant step for humanity

The crust is thinner at the ocean
Who knows what ungodly creatures these fools will release upon the world?
