what even the fuck? he was on record, like it wasn't a case of hot mike or anything, he was on a fucking interview with someone and they wrote what he was saying.
And, like, he's the communication director. For the White House. His entire job is talking to the press. If he can't even do that without humiliating himself and his administration, then why the hell is he communications director to begin with? You know, aside from having his head fully submerged up Trump's ass?
Someone please let this ride end...every day it feels like we slide further and further into insanity.
I don't understand how, despite all the outrage, the US practically lets everything slip at the moment. When will anything be done about the current administration? This is getting increasingly ridiculous.
I don't understand how, despite all the outrage, the US practically lets everything slip at the moment. When will anything be done about the current administration? This is getting increasingly ridiculous.
It's not that nothing is being done. The issue is that anything that can be done takes time. Impeachment, for example, needs a solid basis or else the majority (which is the GOP who still largely supports Trump) won't bother taking action. If he were to fire Mueller or something equally controversial then they'd probably move forwards with impeachment proceedings immediately but it would still take time to get him out of office. It's an unfortunate side effect of how our government was designed to be.
Two years ago this would have been an incredibly trashy show on Showtime sunday nights in a desperate attempt to compete with HBO and Buzzfeed and Vulture would have declared how it was their favorite guilty pleasure and Variety would have declared it the most offensive show of the 2010s and marveled at the absurdly strong ratings despite the time slot and completely fantastic and cartoonish subject matter. But no, this is official policy and fully sanctioned with executive actioning from the Office of the President of the United States of America. There are no words to describe how shittily history is going to receive this. Historians a hundred years from now are going to call bullshit and shenanigans.
no scaramucci you are the leakers!

It's only been half a year and people are calling bullshit and shenanigans. I want to get off this rapidly breaking ride.
Holy shit, at least Spicer TRIED to do his job.

He's technically leaked what, 3? 4? bits of information?
Scaramouch or Scaramouche n. a stock character in commedia dell'arte and farce who is a cowardly braggart, easily beaten and frightened.
Hmm.
http://www.newyorker.com/news/ryan-lizza/anthony-scaramucci-called-me-to-unload-about-white-house-leakers-reince-priebus-and-steve-bannon

He reiterated that Priebus would resign soon, and he noted that he told Trump that he expected Priebus to launch a campaign against him. “He didn’t get the hint that I was reporting directly to the President,” he said. “And I said to the President here are the four or five things that he will do to me.” His list of allegations included leaking the Hannity dinner and the details from his financial-disclosure form.
His paranoia is something else. I want to say this should prove interesting, but I'm not sure "interesting" is the word I'm really looking for.
Hmm.
are we sure Scaramucci is a name that actually existed before 2016? is this like an American Psycho thing? he just said he was an influential yuppie from New York and no one thought it was worth checking the name, he must have just been an old friend of Don's? guys, are we sure Anthony Scaramucci hasn't already killed anyone?
shit after seeing that I kinda like the guy
Threatening to fire his entire staff because someone talked to some reporter? Yeah seems like a stand up guy to me.
In the future, everyone will look back on the Trump administration and recall it as 'White House: The Reality Show' years.
In the future, everyone will look back on the Trump administration and recall it as 'White House: The Reality Show' years.
I think it'll be looked at as the rise of American fascism. Reality show implies entertainment and showmanship, which there's none of - just narcissism, große Luge, childishness, pettiness, immaturity, and intentional hypernormalization intended to exhaust the opposition and beat the fighting spirit out of anyone who cares.

Sounds good to me.
So reality shows will be considered as fascist? Sounds good to me.
I don't think there's anything good or amusing about the fascist overtones as of late.
So reality shows will be considered as fascist? Sounds good to me.
Fascism starts out being absurd. So absurd that you can't help but laugh at it rather than take it seriously. And then suddenly it's not quite so absurd, because people start dying, and then it's suddenly real and horrifying.
The Mucc seems to be channeling his inner Malcolm Tucker :v:

I will agree however that this administration will be seen as the start of American fascism. And that's no joke.
So reality shows will be considered as fascist? Sounds good to me.
I wrote up a giant post but it isn't really the place for it. Essentially American TV has become a roaring dumpster fire. One that hurts to even look at. And for some reason a large part of our population are glued to and take as the word of god. If you want example of the TWO types of shows that (for example, my parents) watch I would recommend checking out Alaskan Bush People and The View. I personally haven't lasted more than a few minutes in a room with The View. My favorite was when sitting at a table with a black woman at it, one of Caucasian hosts asked another "Now hang on, I thought you weren't 'sposed to call em The Blacks anymore?"
Isn't there ANY kind of law against bad behavior in the administration?? It's like acting in a professional manner isn't cool anymore.
Isn't there ANY kind of law against bad behavior in the administration?? They talked about two things: how global warming was overblown by "the left" and wasn't a big deal, and how great The View was. Unbearable.
Has trash TV lowered the bar for peoples expectations? Or are trash people just becoming more vocal and catered to?
A whole lot of this
Hahaha oh my fucking God, there are just no words for this. Scaramucci is just an absolute mess. Bring back the Spice Meister.
