I think russians dying due to natural disasters and violent depictions of russian terrorists shooting up a russian airport are a leeeetle bit different. Also, to all you going "da russians dey nazis!", if a game had American terrorists shooting up a mall or something, you would expect it to be banned.

Who didn't see this coming? Seriously. Not all countries are as tolerant as the US when it comes to content in video games. And it makes sense that the country portrayed as the "terrorists" (even though it's not really Russia you're at war with, I believe? Just Makarov and his men whose goal is to get Russia and America to fight with each other, hence, the airport scene) are going to be offended. There's not much you can do about it.

Large companies such as wallmart insures that all games that are developed are patriotic and USA friendly.. A good example of this is the game "freedom fighter" which had its plot changed because the original plot was about a corrupt president.. Wallmart refused to sell such "nonsense" and the developers had to change the badguys to russians..
It would be nice to have the states portrayed as the badguys every now and then.. after all USA is more likely to invade a country or start a major war than the russians..

Nobody in America will care, Russia will have the game revamped to better suit its community (at least I think that's what the article said), nobody in other countries will care either because they're not put in a bad light.

No. I'm saying Germany doesn't care about WW2 games because it's in their past. They don't care about them anymore. They know that they were the bad guys and will always be the bad guys in every World War 2 game. They can't really change that because it really happened. Unlike in MW2, nothing like what happens in the story has happened yet, and could be seen as an attempt to say that Russia is evil and whatnot.
